Oppo wants to blow Bubble on the back of your phone. The company has launched a small circular magnetic screen adorably named Bubble. It sticks to the back of compatible phones and works as a selfie viewfinder for your rear camera.
You can also use it as a camera remote and a display for showing pictures. Detach it from your phone entirely and it makes for a wearable fashion accessory you can attach to your bag or jeans.
Bubble’s got your phone's back
Oppo's Bubble is a small and round detachable display that looks like Apple's AirTag. Yet, it has nothing to do with location tracking.

You may have already seen the black and white cartoon mascot. It's a cat dressed in a chunky purple knit hoodie pulled over its ears. Bubble has a 1.73-inch AMOLED display with a 466×466 resolution and up to 600 nits of brightness.
Inside it is a 550mAh internal battery measuring 7mm and weighing 28 grams. Most smartwatches run 300–400mAh batteries and last up to two days. With a small display and running simpler tasks, Bubble should survive that duration. The device has an IP54 rating for a fair level of dust proofing, and light splash resistance.
Bubble works as a selfie viewfinder to frame shots perfectly when you're using your rear cameras. It also functions as a full camera remote when mounted on tripods or taking group photos.

It streams a live preview from up to 10 meters away, so you can check your positioning on the Bubble screen in your hand and trigger the shutter without rushing back to tap the phone screen or fumbling with a separate Bluetooth remote.
Bluetooth, possibly combined with a proprietary low-latency protocol, is the safest guess for its connectivity. Oppo hasn't shared any more specifications than that.
Bubble may not make a global appearance
Beyond photography, Bubble displays wallpapers, live photos, and looping videos on the back of your phone. It's also designed to work as a standalone wearable accessory. You can clip it to your phone case, or even attach it to your outfit.
The most likely target audience is young, style-conscious users who treat their phone setup as an extension of their personal aesthetic. The average user may be more concerned about what their device can do for them beyond helping to take a couple nice selfies.

If you're interested, the accessory launched alongside the Oppo Reno 16 and supports a wider range of devices. Some models include the new Find X9 Ultra and Find X9 Pro, OnePlus 15, and OnePlus 15T.
There should be a full compatibility list on the brand’s official website. Bubble is available in silver color and is priced at CNY 499 (≈ $75), and goes on sale in China on May 29. Preorders are currently ongoing on the Chinese website.
The company has not announced plans for a global launch. Given their limited presence and recent dramatic changes in Western markets, international availability looks unlikely for now. If you're outside of the country and want one, you'd likely have to import it.
