A Legendary Agent, a Dangerous Mark
The logline for the show states that it follows “legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin (Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and outcast from the world of intelligence, all bets are off when Brad decides to go after the $15 million federal bounty on the assassin’s head.”
It's hard to imagine a worse day at work than getting fired mid-chase for an international assassin—unless you count being the next on their hit list! Brad Griffin, portrayed by Marsden, finds himself without a badge and backup, but with a very tempting incentive to keep the hunt going. When you’ve lost everything, going rogue suddenly looks like a reasonable career move.
An Original Story Brought to Life by Top Talent
The series is based on an original idea from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who also serve as executive producers. Tom Spezialy and Marsden are among the executive producers as well. Blue Marble Pictures is producing, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity also executive producing. Apple Studios is attached as a producer, keeping Marsden in the Apple TV+ family.
Marsden: No Stranger to High Stakes
This new series continued Marsden's streak at Apple, following his appearance in the second season of “Your Friends & Neighbors” as Owen Ashe. His other recent TV roles included the Hulu drama “Paradise” and Amazon’s “Jury Duty,” both of which earned him Emmy nominations. Over the years, Marsden has tackled diverse television roles in shows like “Westworld,” “Dead to Me,” and “30 Rock.” In film, he became known for his work as Cyclops in the “X-Men” franchise—a role he reprised in “Avengers: Doomsday.” He also starred in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movies and “Enchanted,” among several others.
The Minds Behind the Mission
Marcum and Holloway were two of the credited writers on “Iron Man,” the film starring Robert Downey Jr. and directed by Jon Favreau, which grossed over $585 million at the global box office in 2008 and laid the foundation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They have also penned screenplays for films like “Uncharted” starring Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland, and “Kraven the Hunter” starring Aaron Taylor Johnson. With their experience, the new Marsden-led thriller arrives with strong creative firepower both in front of and behind the camera.
