It's a busy week for Motorola. The company has officially announced three new devices for the UK and Ireland: the Motorola Razr 70, the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra, and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro.

Two are foldable flip phones. One is a conventional slab with a notably thin chassis and a four-camera setup that makes a strong case for itself at under £750. All three have something worth talking about.

Starting at $799.99/£799.99, the Razr 70 is the most accessible way into the new Razr family. The external display runs at 3.63 inches, offering full app access, notification checking, and the same widget and layout customization as the more expensive siblings.

Inside, you get a 6.90-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with Dolby-enhanced stereo speakers. Performance is handled by a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X, paired with a 4,800mAh battery that Motorola claims delivers over 36 hours of mixed use on a single charge.

Camera and Charging

The camera system is a dual 50MP setup: a main sensor with OIS, Instant All-Pixel PDAF, and Quad Pixel technology, plus a 50MP ultrawide with Macro Vision. A 32MP internal camera handles selfies and video calls.

Charging tops out at 30W TurboPower, and 15W wireless charging is also included. Color options include PANTONE Hematite in a woven finish, Violet Ice, Sporting Green in a soft luxe finish, and Bright White in Acetate.

Motorola Razr 70 Ultra: The Flagship Flip

The Ultra is where Motorola makes its biggest claims. Snapdragon 8 Elite is under the hood, which genuinely earns the flagship label, and the spec sheet backs it up across the board.

The external display stretches to 4.0 inches with a 165Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness, while the internal screen is a 6.96-inch Extreme AMOLED peaking at 5,000 nits HDR brightness with 10-bit color and Pantone Validated calibration. It's one of the largest inner displays on any flip phone currently available.

Camera Upgrades

The main sensor is a next-generation 50MP LOFIC unit that Motorola claims captures up to 6x more dynamic range than its predecessor. A 50MP ultrawide with Macro Vision and a 50MP internal selfie camera complete the system, all with Dolby Vision Capture support.

Group Shot, Frame Match, Creative Watermarks, and the Camcorder Rotate to Zoom gesture mode are all new additions across the Razr 70 family. The Ultra also gets Signature Style, which learns your editing preferences from your existing photo library.

Battery and Durability

The 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery is rated for over 36 hours of battery life, with 68W TurboPower charging delivering a day's worth of power in around 8 minutes. Wireless charging runs at 30W.

The external display glass is Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic, a step up from Gorilla Glass Victus on the standard Razr 70. Color options include Orient Blue in Alcantara and PANTONE Cocoa in a natural wood veneer finish.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro: Something Different

The Edge 70 Pro is the odd one out in this launch, and that's not a criticism. This is Motorola's case that you can make an extremely thin phone without gutting the camera or the battery, and on paper, it makes a compelling argument.

At 7.19mm, it's the thinnest device in its category. The quad-curved design pairs glass fiber construction with fabric-inspired finishes, available in Pantone-curated dual-tone colorways: Zinfandel with Sangria in a silk finish, Chicory Coffee with Cocoa Cream in wood, Titan with Orient Blue in a wool-inspired texture, and Lily White with Whisper Pink in acetate.

Four 50MP Cameras

The camera story here is the standout: four 50MP cameras on a phone under £750. You get a Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom at an 81mm equivalent focal length, a 50MP ultrawide covering a 122-degree field of view, and a 50MP selfie camera capable of 4K recording.

The telephoto extends to 50x with AI-assisted Super Zoom Pro, and OIS is present on the telephoto. Pantone Validated color and skin tones are supported across all lenses.

Performance and Battery

The Edge 70 Pro runs MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, which Motorola says delivers 30% efficiency gains and 25% higher peak performance over the previous Dimensity 8400 generation. Up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM keeps multitasking smooth.

The battery is the real surprise for a phone this slim: a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon cell rated for up to two days of mixed use. Charging maxes out at 90W TurboPower, with 15W wireless charging also available.

Display and Durability

The 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display runs at 1.5K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and 5,200 nits peak brightness. IP68 and IP69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i handle the durability side.

The Edge 70 Pro also ships with Android 16 and Moto AI, and launches as the first device under Motorola's new Collections by Motorola design framework.
