Three announcements. Three very different audiences. And at least one of them involves hand-placed Swarovski crystals.

Motorola has officially announced the Moto G87, the Moto G37, and the second Brilliant Collection for the UK and Ireland, covering everything from a sub-£220 entry-level 5G phone to a crystal-encrusted luxury device that comfortably costs more than most budget laptops.

Moto G87: Best Moto G Camera Yet

The G87 is the most interesting of the three. Motorola is leading with the headline spec: a 200MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, 2x lossless zoom, and Ultra Pixel technology for better low-light performance.

Supporting that are an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP selfie camera, alongside AI tools including Auto Smile Capture, Portrait Mode, and Google Photos integrations like Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur. Multiple focal length options at 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm equivalents give you a bit more creative flexibility than a single-lens setup.

Display and Audio

The display is a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED panel at 1.5K resolution, peaking at 5,000 nits with a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola is also claiming 280% more speaker output than the previous G86 generation, backed by Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification.

That's a significant audio upgrade for a mid-range device, and it should make a real difference for anyone who watches a lot of content on their phone.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the G87 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 with up to 12GB of RAM, expandable to 24GB through RAM Boost. A 5,200mAh battery keeps things going, charged at 30W via TurboPower.

The G87 ships with Android 16 out of the box, with Google Gemini and Circle to Search built in.

Durability

IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection, MIL-STD-810H certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i make the spec sheet look impressively robust for this price point. It's a combination you'd expect to see on more expensive hardware.

Moto G37: The Dependable Budget Option

There's nothing flashy about the Moto G37, and that's fine. It's a 5G phone designed for people who need a reliable daily driver at a sensible price, and it delivers exactly that.

The camera is a 50MP main sensor with Quad Pixel technology, paired with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display at 120Hz, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a 5,200mAh battery with TurboPower charging.

Software and Protection

Like the G87, the G37 ships with Android 16, Google Gemini, and Circle to Search. IP64 water resistance, MIL-STD-810H certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i round out a durability package that punches above its price.

At £219.99, it positions itself sensibly at the accessible end of the 5G market, where the competition is genuinely fierce.

Brilliant Collection: Swarovski and Sound by Bose

And then there's this. The second Brilliant Collection takes the motorola signature smartphone and the Moto Buds 2 Plus earbuds and covers them in hand-placed Swarovski crystals, inspired by constellations.

The signature arrives in PANTONE Violet Indigo with a silk-inspired finish and 20 amethyst Swarovski crystals, and it does look genuinely striking. The hardware underneath is unchanged: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, DXOMARK gold-ranked cameras in their category, IP68 and IP69 protection, and a silicon-carbon battery designed for 1,200 charge cycles.

The Earbuds

The Moto Buds 2 Plus get 12 crystals per earbud and another 41 on the charging case, which feels slightly excessive in the best possible way. Sound by Bose technology handles audio, delivering up to 40 hours of total playtime from the case.

This is not a product for everyone, and it was never meant to be. At £1,199.99, it's a statement purchase aimed squarely at people who want their technology to look like jewelry.

Also Available: Moto Buds 2 Plus Without the Crystals

If you want the Sound by Bose audio experience without the Swarovski price tag, Motorola is also releasing the standard Moto Buds 2 Plus in PANTONE Silhouette in the US starting April 30 at $149.99 from Motorola.com.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto G87 is priced at £349.99 and available from Motorola.com, Motorola.ie, Argos, JLP, Amazon, Littlewoods, and AO. US pricing has not been confirmed.

The Moto G37 comes in at £219.99 and is stocked across Motorola.com, Motorola.ie, Currys, Argos, JLP, Amazon, Littlewoods, AO, EE, Vodafone, Three, and GiffGaff. US pricing has not been confirmed.

The Brilliant Collection, comprising the motorola signature and Moto Buds 2 Plus adorned with Swarovski crystals, is priced at £1,199.99 and available from Motorola and Amazon. US availability has not been confirmed.
