Hiroh has officially opened US preorders for its secure smartphone with military-grade protection. The Hiroh Phone is starting at $999, and promises to outclass even the top brands in privacy.

It features dual hardware kill switches that can instantly disable the camera, microphone, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The phone is now available on the official website.

It's a great option if you're tired of bloatware

It’s a bold move for HIROH to take on a flagship like the Galaxy S25+, and surprisingly, it does perform well in more ways than you’d expect. Both phones share similar 6.7-inch AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, fast 5G connectivity, and powerful octa-core processors.

But the Galaxy S25+ uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and Samsung’s software optimization make it a powerhouse for multitasking. Perhaps, that's what the Hiroh Phone wants to fix by removing heavy system tracking, providing more customization that happens locally and expandable storage. For those looking to extend privacy beyond the device itself, a Cybernews review of DeleteMe highlights how the service helps remove personal data from data broker websites and reduce online tracking.

The phone uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip supported with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, which is expandable to 2TB. The display is a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED glass screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness.

The camera setup includes a 108MP Samsung sensor, 13MP Sony ultra-wide, and 32MP front lens, all backed by a 5000mAh replaceable battery with 33W fast charging.

You can choose between Murena’s /e/OS for total “de-Googled” privacy or Android 16 for maximum compatibility. Usually, you're heavily locked-down the operating system, so it's a rare feature to be able to switch your device's operating system.

You now have more responsibility for your own digital choices, and Murena’s /e/OS already offers enough privacy tools for most users. Android 16 has also made meaningful improvements in data transparency and on-device security, so you can’t go wrong either way. If you need anymore convincing, the phone is fully unlocked and 5G-ready with a two-year warranty.

Preorders are live now on Hiroh’s website and there's a $99 refundable reservation fee. Once the phone officially launches, you’ll pay the remaining $900 plus taxes.

The phone itself looks great on the website. It's spotted in a matte black finish with the cameras sitting at the upper left corner in a square-shaped camera island. It contains the three circular camera lenses arranged in a triangular pattern, with an LED flash positioned to the right of the bottom lens.

The camera bump is slightly raised with a subtle border. The Hiroh logo appears in the center of the back in a darker tone-on-tone finish, while the brand name is printed at the bottom.

The sides feature flat with squared-off edges. Volume buttons and what appears to be a red accent button are on the left side, while the power button with a red accent sits on the right. The frame appears to be dark gray or black metal. The bottom has a centered USB-C charging port and speaker grille.
