Earlier leaks and rumors suggested that the Galaxy S Plus model is on the chopping block. It’s now awkwardly sandwiched between the Ultra and the base model, given the S25 Edge’s release and its great sales performance. Likewise, Oppo is reshuffling and rebranding its flagship lineup. But the rollout has been annoyingly confusing.
Initially, leaks pointed to four distinct models coming out: the Find X9, X9 Plus, X9 Pro, and X9 Ultra. The Find X9 was supposed to be a compact flagship, the X9 Plus the true successor to the X8, and the Pro and Ultra representing the premium end of the lineup.
Another set of rumors pointed to the Find X9 and the Ultra model being postponed until next year. Worse, the Plus model could be absorbed into the name Find X9. In other words, the phone once called the X9 Plus would be marketed as the standard Find X9. Mind boggling, isn't it?
Oppo’s Find X9 phones will come this year… we think?

While the confusion around Oppo’s upcoming phones is being sorted out, one common agreement is that the Find X9 and X9 Pro will launch in October this year. It will follow the Chinese National Day holidays.
Popular leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that the Find X9, which features a 6.3-inch flat display and has been referenced as a small cup, will come alongside the super large cup, a term used to describe the high-end Find X9 Ultra. They'll most likely support ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.
His post also discloses that the phone is currently being tested on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 platform. Dimensity 9500 is MediaTek’s next-generation flagship mobile chipset, expected to launch in September 2025.
At its core, it uses Arm’s new Cortex-X930 CPU, which has been renamed under Arm’s new “Lumex” branding, and reportedly delivers a 49% increase in single-core performance over its predecessor.

Internally, the GPU is known as “Drage”, and reportedly delivers a 40% boost in ray tracing performance compared to the previous generation. It's currently in direct competition with Qualcomm’s 8 Elite Gen 2 chip.
With its power, the Find X9 is able to support a powerful triple 50MP camera setup, including a periscope telephoto lens. It also features a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and high-end biometric security.

Find X9 may introduce 7,000mAh battery
The most interesting part of DCS’s leak is how Oppo is breaking convention with the battery size. Where most phones are capped out at around 5,000mAh. But there's a possibility that the Find X9 will carry a 7,000mAh battery.
For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro, and even gaming-centric devices rarely cross 5,500mAh without tradeoffs in thickness or wireless charging. Oppo will complement the battery performance with wireless charging at 50W.

The rumored 7,000mAh battery sounds impressive. But it also seems a bit like a stretch. Even 6,000mAh batteries are still relatively rare. It's not surprising that DCS’ announcement raises eyebrows.
But it turns out that Oppo might not be alone in this bold direction. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra may also come with a battery between 6,800mAh and 7,000mAh.
