You either embrace it with all your heart or you hate it with a burning passion. AI isn't a new term, but in the last few years, it has been more relevant than ever. There are ways that AI can make us more productive and make our lives better, but there are also ways that it can impact people negatively, especially as it pertains to livelihoods.
Most big companies don't care about whether you like it or not, though. AI makes things easier for them, in one way or another, and a good example of that is Oppo. The company has just announced that it has made a major upgrade to its after-sales service by injecting it with its very own AndesGPT LLM.
Oppo Is the First Smartphone Brand to Fully Commit to AI In Its Customer Service

At some point in your life, you've probably had to reach out to customer service for one product or another. If you have, then you know the worst part of those platforms is being put on hold. In some cases, you have to wait hours to even get the first response from the person on the other end. Unfortunately, that's the biggest downside of human agents. It's the trade-off that we accept, knowing that they typically help with the actual problem.
Well, in an attempt to make things better for the consumers, Oppo has announced a very big upgrade to its customer service systems. The system is being powered by its AndesGPT LLM and uses generative AI to power more context-aware and conversational replies to customers.
Oppo seems to hint that its system won't be replacing human agents (at least, for now), and that those agents will be able to use the new system as an assistant when trying to solve the issues of actual customers.
Oppo Has Localized This New System for Use in Over 20 Countries

One advantage of generative AI is that it understands several languages a lot quicker than you can teach a single person one language. That advantage led Oppo to ensure that its new after-sales system is capable of serving customers in up to 13 languages, including:
- English
- Chinese
- Japanese
- Indonesian
The Recently-Launched Reno 14 Series Shows Oppo's Commitment to AI

Oppo recently unveiled its Reno 14 series of devices on the global stage, just a few months after the Reno 13, and besides customer service, the company has committed to ensuring that it puts AI smarts into all of its devices. The OEM isn't exceptional in that regard, as AI is the current buzzword. Essentially, every manufacturer is riding that wave at the moment.
The Oppo Reno 14 series brings AI in various forms, including in the photography department. One feature is what the company calls AI Livephoto 2.0, which uses “dual exposure fusion” to capture moments perfectly and with minimal shutter lag. You can also dive into the AI Editor suite of tools to tweak your images.

The OEM also mentions AI LinkBoost 3.0 for network stability and borrows the AI Mind Space feature from OnePlus. You also get useful AI features tuned towards summarizing phone calls and translating them.
