The most anticipated smartphone launch of the summer months could be argued to be Samsung's Z foldable lineup. The devices are coming on July 9th, and we've heard a lot about them through leaks, with enough of them to essentially confirm the big aesthetic changes we'll be seeing this year.
Now, a few days ahead of the launch, we're getting to see the most extensive listing of the device specs, thanks to Roland Quandt over on BlueSky. Let's talk about it all.
Some Regions Will Get the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a 16GB/1TB Configuration

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the most-awaited device in the upcoming device series, and I don't need a survey to come to that conclusion.
This year will be even more exciting than usual, as we know the Z Fold 7 is going to slim down significantly. In fact, so significantly that it will be the second thinnest foldable in the world, and that's quite an achievement when last month's model was still over 12mm thick when closed. Besides the dimensions, here's what else we should expect to see.
| Galaxy Z Fold 7 | |
| Cover Screen Size | 6.5 inches |
| Inner Screen Size | 8 inches |
| Thickness | Folded: 8.9mm; Unfolded: 4.2mm |
| Weight | 216 grams |
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite |
| Storage Options | 12/256GB, 12/512GB, 16GB/1TB |
| Battery | 4,400mAh |
| Main Camera | 200MP |
| Colorways | Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Silver Shadow |
Samsung seems ready to compete with other foldable OEMs this year, and if there's one weak spot, it's the relatively small battery. However, in other aspects of the spec sheet, things look good. The 200MP camera will be standard on the Z Fold 7, and in select regions, a 16GB/1TB option will be available, marking the first time a Samsung foldable has been equipped with 16GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 Will Have the Biggest Cover Display on a Clamshell Foldable

For those who don't need the big Z Fold 7, they can always settle comfortably with the cute Z Flip 7. It packs a similar amount of power for almost half the price and in a much more trendy form factor. This year, the big change is that the cover display now takes up the entire cover instead of last year's folder design. That's a welcome change.
| Galaxy Z Flip 7 | |
| Cover Screen Size | 4.1 inches |
| Inner Screen Size | 6.9 inches |
| Storage Options | 12/256GB, 12/512GB |
| Battery | 4,300mAh |
| Main Camera | 50MP |
| Colorways | Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Silver Shadow |
There is still some degree of confusion as to whether the Z Flip 7 will opt for the Snapdragon 8 Elite or the Exynos 2500, and that's one thing that these new leaks don't elucidate. However, we only need to wait a few days to figure it out.

Two notable improvements for the Flip 7 are a larger battery (a 300mAh increase) and not only a cover display with more area, but also the largest cover display on a clamshell foldable. I'm a big fan of how Samsung has taken things seriously this year. Long may it continue.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE Is Confirmed and Coming in Two Basic Colorways

Last, and arguably the least, is the new model for this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be a tuned-down version of the Z Flip 7. Arguably, it will maintain the folder-style cover display and many of the design elements of last year's Flip model, but the spec sheet suggests otherwise.
- Storage: 128GB, 256GB
- Memory: 8GB
- Battery: 4,000mAh
- Cover Screen: 4.1 inches
- Inner Screen: 6.9 inches
- Main Camera: 50MP
- Colors: Black, White
The device clearly steps back on the spec sheet by a few steps. It is rumored to come with the Exynos 2400 (instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Exynos 2500). As mentioned earlier, the spec sheet points to a 4.1-inch cover display, which would suggest it goes full-screen like the regular Flip 7, but I'd take that one aspect with a second pinch of salt.
