Last year, Google changed quite a bit on the spec sheet for the Google Pixel 9 series when compared to the Pixel 8 lineup that came before it. However, the company didn't care to highlight most of those changes, instead focusing on the big software improvements it was bringing to Pixel's Android experience, Gemini, and its AI features.
This year, we're expecting to see the Google Pixel 10 series show up, and if you were expecting major changes to the hardware, then you probably weren't paying attention last year. The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL have had their specs leaked, and looking at them, things are mostly the same.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Will Get a Battery and Charging That Are Just Slightly Better

Google shook up its device structure last year, and while it took some getting used to, it's pretty easy to understand now. Those who want a device with all the bells and whistles but in a more compact body have the Google Pixel 9 Pro as a choice. The device has a 6.3-inch screen, the same as the regular Pixel 9, but it comes with a:
- Better screen
- More RAM
- Telephoto camera
- Improved selfie camera

The Google Pixel 10 family will launch next month, and ahead of that, the good people at Android Headlines have given us a glimpse at the specs for the Pro models. In the case of the Google Pixel 10 Pro, not much is going to change, and that's not a surprise to me. Google paid so little attention to hardware at its Pixel 9 event, and it seems that'll be a trend going forward.
| Google Pixel 10 Pro (Rumored) | |
| Screen | 6.3-inch, OLED, LTPO 120Hz, 1280p |
| Processor | Google Tensor G5 |
| Storage | 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB |
| Memory | 16GB |
| Rear Cameras | 50MP main + 48MP ultrawide + 48MP 5x telephoto |
| Selfie Camera | 42MP |
| Battery | 4,870mAh |
| Charging | 29W wired, 15W wireless |
Compared to the Pixel 9 Pro, essentially nothing changes. You'll get a battery that's a tad bigger (+170mAh), and wired charging that is so minimally faster that you probably won't notice the difference (+2W). What you won't see on the spec sheet is that the ultrawide and telephoto cameras should now be capable of macro photography.
Google's Pixel 10 Pro XL Will Have the Biggest Pixel Battery Ever, But It's Not That Big

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL isn't in a massively different boat from the Pixel 10 Pro. There's not going to be that much changing on the spec sheet besides the battery and the charging, but the battery is noteworthy for one reason. It will be the largest battery that Google has ever put into one of its Pixel smartphones, at 5,200mAh. In the general smartphone landscape, that's not that big, though.
| Google Pixel 10 Pro XL (Rumored) | |
| Screen | 6.8-inch, OLED, LTPO 120Hz, 1344p |
| Processor | Google Tensor G5 |
| Storage | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB |
| Memory | 16GB |
| Rear Cameras | 50MP main + 48MP ultrawide + 48MP 5x telephoto |
| Selfie Camera | 42MP |
| Battery | 5,200mAh |
| Charging | 39W wired, 15W wireless |
You might notice that the Pixel 10 Pro XL loses the 128GB option, making the new base variant the one with 256GB of storage. That will almost certainly mean a higher starting price this year.
