If your computing needs aren't extensive and you need portability, you might find yourself better suited with a Chromebook over a traditional laptop. Chromebooks tend to be more affordable, have better battery life, and ease of use tends to be a whole lot better.
If you're a Chromebook type of person, but you're on the end of the Chromebook spectrum where more power makes a big difference to your workflow, the new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 will tick all the right boxes for you.
Lenovo's New 14-Inch Chromebook Plus Is Built for This New AI Era

Although the introduction of AI hasn't drastically changed my life, I know that's not the case for a lot of people. As a result, it'd be a bad move for tech manufacturers not to embrace it when they can. The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 definitely does, in collaboration with Google, but we'll get to that.
Design and Build

The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 is built to be portable. You get a 14-inch screen, which on its own, already helps this laptop with how compact it is. The design is minimal, featuring an aluminum chassis and a build that's only about 1.5 cm thick and weighing approximately 2.5 lbs.

Besides portability, you get Dolby Atmos and four speakers (two of which are woofers). You get a backlit keyboard, a 5MP webcam, and a fingerprint reader as an option. The laptop doesn't even have a fan, which helps it be built a little slimmer and also makes it absolutely quiet when working. That's one of the perks of a Chromebook. It is available in Seashell and Lunar Grey colorways.
Performance

In terms of performance, this Lenovo Chromebook runs on MediaTek's Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, which is a flagship SoC that comes paired with a solid Arm GPU and MediaTek NPU. A large battery and an efficient chip combine to give you up to 17 hours of non-stop productivity.

The display is a 14-inch 2K OLED panel that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which makes it perfect for the creators in the crowd. It is also in a taller 16:10 aspect ratio, which favors multitasking.
Software and AI

Unsurprisingly, the Chromebook Plus 14 runs on Chrome OS, and Google's influence means that you can expect to see a lot of AI magic, especially with a capable NPU onboard. Google AI is built into the OS, providing features like:
- Smart Grouping, to organize tabs, apps, and documents, even offline
- Image Editing, in the gallery app, even without an internet connection
- Select to Search, uses Lens to search up anything on your screen
- Text Capture to identify text from documents, photos, and emails, and add them to your Calendar or other apps
- Help Me Read, summarizes text and even quizzes you to help with retention
Pricing and Availability

The new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 will be available through several retail channels and will start at $649.
