Samsung has two major release events every year. Both go by “Galaxy Unpacked”, so that can make things a little confusing for the uninitiated. But considering one happens at the very start of the year and the other in the middle of the year, it can be easy to guess which is being referred to with full context.
Galaxy Unpacked, held in the summer months, brings us the company's new foldable devices, as well as wearables such as earbuds and smartwatches. Well, those summer months are finally here, and the South Korean electronics giant has finally revealed the official date for its Unpacked event. It's right around the corner.
Galaxy Unpacked Will Take Place on July 9th, Just Two Weeks Away
The summer Unpacked event from Samsung is very important because not only does it bring the newest iterations of the most prominent foldable phones, but it also brings the most prominent Android smartwatches. This year, we're expecting to see a whole bunch of new devices, and it's pretty much been confirmed that we'll see the following:
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE
- Galaxy Watch 8
- Galaxy Watch 8 Classic
- Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025)
Summer's Unpacked is typically the time that Samsung shows its new Galaxy Buds, and last year brought the maiden Galaxy Ring, but there have been almost no leaks regarding those, so it seems likely they might not show up this time around.

The best part is that we no longer have to speculate as to when these devices will be made official. Samsung has confirmed that its Unpacked event will be taking place in New York this year, on July 9th, at 10 AM EDT (local time). That translates to 3 PM BST and 4 PM CET. You'll be able to catch the event live on Samsung's official website or its YouTube channel.
Samsung Has Opened Up the Early Offers Already

If you know that you'll be getting the Z Fold 7 or Z Flip 7 no matter what, then you have a unique opportunity to save some money, even two weeks before the devices are made official.
If you reserve one of the upcoming devices on Samsung's website or the Shop Samsung app, you'll get a $50 credit if you eventually pre-order and purchase the reserved phone. Plus, Samsung will be enhancing the trade-in values if you use their trade-in program, up to $1,150 in value for the right phones.
Plus, it doesn't hurt to enter Samsung's sweepstakes for a chance to win $5,000 in Samsung Credit. That definitely doesn't hurt, especially as a purchase isn't even necessary to enter.
There's Been a Big Emphasis on the Z Fold 7 Bringing an “Ultra” Experience

Samsung has been throwing the word “Ultra” around quite a bit ahead of next month's launch, and it seems to be looking straight at the Z Fold 7 as it says that. Initially, it made it seem like there'd be an Ultra variant of that book-style foldable, but now, it seems clear that Samsung is trying to paint the Z Fold 7 as an Ultra-grade device, like an S25 Ultra that can unfold.
Considering that Samsung's foldables haven't been the most competitive in recent years, I'm excited to see what the company brings. At this point, not too much is certain regarding the spec sheet, but we know a little bit.
