Samsung didn't do a good job with its One UI 7 rollout, but at this point, most, if not all, eligible devices have received the update, so we can consider that to be history at this point. And you know what they say about how it's important to learn about the past so you don't repeat its mistakes. Samsung seems to have learned that lesson.
One UI 8 is next on the table, and with Android 16 coming months earlier than usual, Samsung might have found itself in a tight position. Fortunately, it seems to have taken the One UI 8 update very seriously, and there won't be a problem this time. The One UI 8 beta is now rolling out, and Samsung has provided some info on the stable release.
Samsung's Next Foldables Will Be the First to Launch With Stable One UI 8

Most users, even those who are tech enthusiasts, don't bother with installing betas. For them, the stable update is the most important thing. I can't disagree with that thought process. To address the majority, let's tackle the important question first. When can we expect the stable release of One UI 8?
According to Samsung, its upcoming foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, will both come with One UI 8, fresh out of the box. That's good news.

The next set of Samsung foldables is going to launch in the summer, most likely in July, though there's no exact date to go by. If Samsung can get One UI 8 stable and ship it out a month after Android 16 is revealed, it'll undoubtedly be a lot better than the way the brand handled Android 15.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Users in Some Regions Have Access to the Beta for One UI 8

Depending on where you live, if you have one of the devices in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, then the beta for One UI 8 has already started rolling out in your region. This means Samsung isn't significantly behind the competition, and that indicates a notable recovery from its previous flawed rollout.
| Manufacturer | Android 16 Beta Rollout Date |
| Samsung | May 28th |
| Vivo | April 7th |
| Xiaomi | April 9th |
| OnePlus | April 10th |
The rollout commenced today, and users in South Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US can now install the beta if they please. If you've never done it before, note that you won't be able to install it as you might install any other update. Instead, you have to download the Samsung Members app and enroll via the “One UI Beta Program” banner.
What New Things Does One UI 8 Bring to the Table?

“Why should I get excited?” That's a good question, and knowing what One UI 8 is promising to bring to the table can answer that. Android 16 isn't a massive update over Android 15, however, so don't expect too much to happen. The AI experience, unsurprisingly, is likely to be tweaked quite a bit.
- Multimodal capabilities of Galaxy AI will improve, becoming more intelligent for more natural conversation based on your screen or camera viewfinder.
- Now Bar and Now Brief will improve their insights and suggestions.
- A new setting will allow you to lock Galaxy AI processing to happen solely on your device, not in the cloud.
- Support for QR and NFC customer registration when at a service center.
- There will be a New UI for the Reminders app.
- Samsung will make improvements to the Quick Share experience.
