Being an idle game, Soul Weapon Idle is about as casual as any RPG can get, although there are several tips and tricks that all beginners can incorporate in the early game that'll allow them to build a solid foundation for their accounts.

Read more if you want to learn all the things that Soul Weapon Idle beginners should prioritize to get a headstart early on, as well as a few tips to further optimize your gameplay in the long run!

What to Do First in Soul Weapon Idle

Keep Clearing Main Quests

The very first thing you need to do as soon as you get in the game is to just keep clearing the Main Quests. This will not only give you an idea of how the game is played but also give you plenty of rewards such as Gold and Red Diamonds.

Ideally, you should keep playing until you run into a Main Quest you can't clear yet. Only at this point should you consider moving on to the next two tasks listed below.

TIP: While doing your Main Quests, make sure that the Auto Stage setting located at the upper-right side of the Adventure screen is turned on, just so you're progressing in Adventure while preoccupied with the Main Quests. It will automatically turn off and set you back to the previous Adventure stage once you die, so remember to turn it on again every time you power up later on.

Summon Weapons, Armor, and Helms

Summoning Weapons and Armor should be your next priority, as they boost your AP (Attack Power) and HP significantly and allow you to push further in Adventure. All Equipment pieces are divided according to their Tiers (i.e. rarity), namely:

  • T7 (Highest)
  • T6
  • T5
  • T4
  • T3
  • T2
  • T1 (Lowest)

Furthermore, each Equipment tier is divided into Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. The higher the Grade, the better the Equipment's stats, but the difference isn't that large compared to the difference between the equipment of two different Tiers.

For example, a T4Grade 4 Weapon has better stats than a T4 Grade 3 Weapon, but a T5 Grade 1 Weapon has significantly more stats than both of them.

As you can see above, Weapon Summon and Armor Summon also have Summon Levels. The higher it is, the higher the chances you get high-tier Equipment, not to mention you also get one high-tier Equipment piece every time your Summon Level increases.

We highly recommend you prioritize Weapon Summon levels by pulling for Weapons most of the time early on, as dealing as much damage as you can is more important than survivability in Adventure.

Unless you're having trouble staying alive in Adventure or Dungeon stages, keep Armor Summon one level below Weapon Summon to ensure you can get better weapons faster.

TIP: Getting T5 Equipment of any grade should be enough to carry your character in the early to mid-game stages, so once you get a T5 Weapon, make sure to invest your Red Diamonds on getting a T5 Armor and Helm next.

Clear Dungeons & Boss Raids

Main Quests will eventually lead you to unlocking and playing Dungeons and Boss Raids as part of the beginner's tutorial.

Once you run into a Main Quest you can't finish at the moment, make sure to play Dungeons and Boss Raids as often as you can from here on, as both these game modes give you various growth items that are essential for your power-ups.

Here are the dungeons that you can access within your first few days of playing Soul Weapon Idle that'll give you tons of growth items when farmed:

Soul Weapon Idle Currencies and How to Farm Them

As a Soul Weapon Idle beginner, there are five currencies that you must start farming as soon as you can:

Used for increasing the Character's level, which gives you stat points to allocate.
Gold icon - Soul Weapon Idle
Gold
Used for Character stat upgrades.
Red Diamond icon - Soul Weapon Idle

Platinum Coin icon - Soul Weapon Idle

TIP: Make sure to check your Mail for dev giveaway rewards, which often contain lots of Red Diamonds and Platinum Coins, which are two of the harder items to farm out of the currencies listed above.

How to Farm Currencies

You can farm most if not all of the items listed above passively just by clearing Adventure stages or following the Main Quest.

But as you can see from the images above, you can easily see other sources where an item can be obtained just by clicking the item's icon, and then “Source”.

Soul Weapon Idle: Seven Beginner Tips

Join the Discord Server

The very first tip we have for you is to join Soul Weapon Idle's Official Discord Server, as here you can socialize with other players, look for parties, and apply for Guilds more easily compared to doing it in-game.

Moreover, you can also stay ahead on all Soul Weapon Idle news regarding updates, giveaways, and fixes by simply tuning in on the various channels in their Discord. See you there!

Save Your Gold and EXP Consumables

As you continue to play, you'll eventually get consumable items that allow you to gain multiple hours' worth of items farmed in Adventure, particularly Gold and EXP.

Do not use these right away! Saving them for later when you've cleared more Adventure stages will get you more Gold and EXP, so we recommend only using them if you're hard-stuck in a particular Adventure or Dungeon Stage for over a day.

Don't Upgrade Your Equipment Yet

We recommend holding off on upgrading your Weapon, Armor, and Hat until you get T5 versions of them, as it's really not worth investing too many Blue Stones on lower-tier Equipment.

Once you get a T5 Equipment piece (as shown in the image above), feel free to upgrade it to at least Level 50 so you can take advantage of Option Stat bonuses, which can be rerolled using Dice.

Fuse All Duplicate Equipment

What do you do with duplicate Weapons, Armor, and Hats as a beginner in almost every idle game ever? Fuse them all, of course!

Fusing five copies of the same Equipment piece gives you one copy of an Equipment Piece of the next Grade. For example, fusing five T4 Grade 4 Weapons gives you one T5 Grade 1 Weapon.

If you're not able to get the high-tier equipment you want through Equipment Summons, you can still get them if you Fuse all the duplicates you get, so chin up!

Always Activate Buffs

While clearing or farming Adventure stages, you can activate five kinds of buffs to enhance both your damage and farming efficiency, which stays active even while you're AFK.

While playing, remember to always check if your buffs are active or not. You can activate all buffs for free for one hour every time they are not currently active.

You can watch ads to extend these buffs, so if you don't mind, we recommend watching a few before closing the game so you can collect more AFK rewards once you return.

Always Check Your Weapon Enchantment

As you can see from the image above, Soul Weapon Idle has an Element System that you can take advantage of to deal way more damage than normal.

Enchanting your Weapon with an element that the monsters you're currently facing in Adventure are weak against will allow you to improve your DPS significantly, so don't forget to do it whenever you're struggling to clear a stage!

This can also be a double-edged sword, however, as enchanting your Weapon with the wrong element will make you deal way less damage, so watch out for that as well.

Optimize Your Skills, Stat Points, and Upgrade Points

Lastly, we recommend that you invest your Stat and Upgrade points very carefully. The same goes for your Skills as well, as some Skills are just better than others and are more worth keeping in your loadout.

Visit our Soul Weapon Idle Best Skills Guide to learn what Skills you should equip!

As far as Stat points go, we recommend investing them only in Accuracy and Penetration as a beginner in the early game, as you can max out all the other stats later through other means such as Equipment Options and Blessings.

As for Upgrade points, make sure to invest your Gold primarily in Base AP. Keep a gap of around 100-300 Levels between Base AP and Base HP.

Once you reach Level 2,000 in either stat, you'll unlock Crit Chance and Crit Damage. Get Crit Chance to Level 301 (25%) first, then invest all Gold on Crit Damage until it hits Level 601 (300.5%).

These Upgrade point allocations should give you a solid early game performance and get you to around Chapter Six to Eight, which is achievable in a day or two.

Conclusion

With that, you now have what it takes to build a solid foundation as a beginner in Soul Weapon Idle. To further improve your early game experience, don't forget to check out the best skills to equip in Soul Weapon Idle!
