Smartwatches have been booming over the years, making them one of the fastest-growing pieces of tech. Brands now even offer smartwatches designed especially for kids. Verizon has also previously released several smartwatches for children under its Gizmo Watch line, and now it has unveiled another addition.

The new Gizmo Watch 3 – Adventure is designed with both kids and parents in mind. Similar to its predecessors, it includes features like games, a School Mode for use during class, and parental controls to help parents keep track of their children, along with improved durability.

The Gizmo Watch 3, being a smartwatch made for kids, has features specially designed for kids aged between 6 and 11. If you're a parent, you'll feel a lot more relaxed giving the Gizmo Watch to your kids than a regular smartwatch.

Firstly, with the Watch 3 – Adventure, parents can track their children's location in real time. They can also mark safe zones via the GizmoHub app, and the watch will alert them if the child steps out of the preset areas. The watch also has a dedicated SOS button.

Moreover, the watch has School Mode to prevent children from using it while they're in school. This mode silences ringtones and other sounds, allowing children to perform essential functions like checking the time, sharing their location, and making emergency calls.

These features will provide peace of mind for parents, as they would have an added layer of security and control while enhancing the safety and well-being of their children.

You don't need to get a new phone number for the new Gizmo watch. It comes with its number which directly connects to Verizon's network.

The watch pairs with the GizmoHub app, available on both iOS and Android smartphones. Using the app, parents can perform certain functions on the watch like setting up School Mode or checking their children's location. They can also approve contacts that can call or text on the watch.

The Gizmo Watch 3 – Adventure comes preloaded with apps, games, learning tools, and health-tracking features for children.

Talking about the specifications, it features a 1.6-inch display, which is larger than the 1.3-inch display on the standard Gizmo Watch 3. The display gets an “optical Diamond-like Carbon coating” along with raised edges to protect it from scratches and drops. Verizon says that the watch can withstand falls from up to 1.2m. Considering this is a watch for children, the durability aspect would provide reassurance for parents.

Powering the watch is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4100 platform, akin to Verizon's Gizmo Watch 3. While it isn't the fastest or latest chipset out there, it should be sufficient for a watch made for children. For memory options, we get 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM.

The Gizmo Watch 3 – Adventure gets a 510 mAh battery inside, which according to Verizon should offer up to 3.7 days of standby and 3.6 hours of usage. It charges wirelessly cua the included wireless charger. When charging, the watch enters Nightstand mode, showing you the date, time, charging status, and alarm.
