Most phone manufacturers are at their drawing boards designing the next big flagship. It's interesting that Human Mobile Devices, the company that makes Nokia phones, is going against the norm and bringing back classic phones.
Earlier this year, they joined hands with Mattel to announce an upcoming flip phone that won't have smart features. Now, they’re set to release three new retro phones with vibrant colors and 4G connectivity.
Nokia isn't afraid to go back in time
Nokia continues to prove that there is still a market for simple and durable phones. HMD plans to release three new phones that will support the 4G network; The Nokia 215, 225, and 235 models. If you can't afford flagships or struggle to understand and use them, these phones are your ideal match. Here's more information on the devices:
Nokia 215 4G is perfect for the non-tech savvy
Nokia 215 4G will appear with the less common Quarter Video Graphics Array (QVGA) resolution on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) in 2.8 inches. The phone will run the TC01 processor from Unisoc and the Nokia Series 30+ platform as its operating system (OS). The RAM size is a small 128MB with a 64MB storage space to match. The storage is expandable with a MicroSD card up to 32GB in size.
It'll also come in dual and single SIM variations, supporting nano SIMs. The battery capacity is 1,450mAh, which is decent for a phone with this form factor. In the box is a 5V 550mAh charger for recharging at your convenience.
Bluetooth 5.0 technology is available, and there's an inbuilt MP3 player. You can pair it with an earbud or a smart speaker. There's even a 3.5mm audio jack to plug your wired earpiece into if you prefer to go old school. The phone won't have a camera, but it'll have a USB Type-C port
Nokia 225 4G and 235 4G are the better phones
The Nokia 225 and 235 4G models will share similar features with the Nokia 215 4G. However, the Nokia 225 will have a smaller display at 2.4 inches. Both phones will have a camera on the rear, although the Nokia 235’s camera will be the better version at 2MP.

Nokia 225 will have a 0.3MP Video Graphics Array (VGA) camera with a resolution of roughly around 640 x 480 pixels. The two phones’ cameras will depend on the torch as a flash.
Interestingly, the three models will use Cloud Apps. It's a feature that “brings together News, weather, and YouTube Shorts, all in one place”, according to HMD. But it's not available on the Nokia 225 4G for European and Chinese regions. They will also have USB Type-C charging ports, instead of the 2mm pin and older port types.
Nokia’s classic phones with near-smart features are on their way
HMD says its new phones will come out soon, but hasn't specified when exactly. Without a doubt, the Finnish company will first launch the devices in their home market. Keep your eyes and ears glued to their official channels for the latest news on their releases. In the meantime, check out the company's latest HMD-branded phones that launched recently.
