If you like smartphones that are design statements in themselves, then you're probably the kind of person who likes the phones that Nothing puts out. They are a sensible blend of good specs, a good price, and a stand-out design, even as much as the company sticks only to black and white.
Well, the Nothing Phone 2a is now tipped to be getting a third color, and if you know something about Nothing, you'll know they certainly hesitate to explore things outside the monochrome spectrum.
The Nothing Phone 2a Will Be Getting A New Color, But We Don't Know Which Yet
The Nothing Phone 2a hasn't been around for too long, but it looks like Nothing wants to put more focus on the great smartphone they've released. However, they look set to do it in a way that is very out of character for the brand, and out-of-character things like this make me excited.
The Nothing Phone 2a will be getting a brand-new color according to X tipster Yogesh Brar. This has also been backed up by a Flipkart teaser page that tells us the phone will be getting a new edition on April 29th (though a new edition doesn't necessarily mean a new color alone).
There's no hint as to what this new color might be, but let's try and do some mental math to figure things out. Just this month, Nothing released the Nothing Ear (a), which doesn't just get the pleasure of being the second Nothing “a” device, but also the first Nothing device to come in a color that isn't black or white. Yep, the Nothing Ear (a) is available in the very bold color that is yellow.
Now, this doesn't make it certain that the Nothing Phone 2a is going to come in yellow as its second color, but it is honestly the best guess that can be deduced from the clues we've been given. For now, it seems like the color will only launch in India, but it remains to be seen where it will eventually find its way to other territories.
The Nothing Phone 2a Is A Very Sensible Budget Smartphone
The Nothing Phone 2a is a very impressive smartphone, especially considering that it only costs $350 in the US. You'll get a FHD+ 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ certification, and 1300-nit peak brightness. In other words, a great screen. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro, with Nothing considered very carefully.
Storage configurations can go as high as 12GB/256GB, and you get a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fasti wired charging. The rear camera is a 50MP lens with OIS, joined by a 50MP ultrawide, and you'll be able to record at 4K/30. The front camera uses a 32MP sensor.
Plus, you get an iconic Nothing design which will stand out in a crowd, along with the signature Glyph interface, though this is a rather different implementation than what the mainline Nothing phones have.
