Anker is making its biggest smart home push yet at IFA Berlin, headlined by MindBase, a local AI hub the company is positioning as the central brain for an “autonomous home.” Everything about it is built to run without sending data to the cloud, and it's launching alongside a wave of new eufy security hardware built to plug into it.
What's new
MindBase runs on three components. EasyOmni Link connects Anker's own devices, close to 100 of them, plus hundreds of Matter-compatible products from other brands, into one local system that works alongside Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Home Assistant. TrueSmart Agent is the on-device AI engine, powered by a built-in AI Core compute card running an in-house large language model at 26 TOPS, handling tasks like a Network-Attached Storage Agent and a Security Agent locally rather than in the cloud. EverSafe Memory is the storage layer, up to 48TB of expandable local storage for photos, recordings, and device data, with natural-language search across footage built in.
The first product to actually run on MindBase is the MindBase Security Kit, pairing the hub with an upcoming eufy TrackLight Cam S1 (an active-deterrence camera with an auto-tracking light and dual-radar detection), the Video Doorbell S4, a Smart Security Shield that can detect strangers from 15 meters and recognize known family members from 30 meters, plus entry and motion sensors. Existing HomeBase S380 users can transfer their footage over to MindBase directly.
Why it matters
Most smart home hubs are just a remote control for a pile of separate apps. MindBase's pitch is that the intelligence runs locally too, meaning decisions about security events get made on-device in real time rather than round-tripping to a server. Anker is explicit that this is the first of several planned agents, with an Energy Agent and a Clean Agent mentioned as coming later, so MindBase is meant to become the hub for eufy's cleaning and SOLIX's energy products too, not just security.

Takeaway
MindBase is Anker trying to move up the stack from selling individual security cameras to owning the hub they all plug into, and doing it entirely on-device rather than through the cloud. The Security Kit is the proof of concept; whether the promised Energy and Clean Agents actually arrive is the thing worth watching next.
