While we wait for more details on the global release of its new foldable, we have news about Honor's latest affordable smartphone which promises multi-day usage and an excellent viewing experience. The Honor X7a is priced from £179, packs in a larger-than-usual battery, a HD+ display, and a 50MP main rear camera.
Powered by the MediaTek Helio G37, the Honor X7a also features 4GB of RAM and 64/129GB of expandable storage (up to 1TB). The big 6.74-inch LCD display boasts HD+ resolution (1600 x 720), a 90Hz refresh rate, and is rated by TUV Rheinland for low blue light emissions.
The quad camera setup on the rear panel consists of a 50MP main sensor with PDAF, a 5MP ultrawide, and a couple of those pesky 2MP sensors for macro and depth purposes (and to make up the numbers). The selfie camera sits in a teardrop notch in the top centre of the display.
Honor claims that the rather large 5,330mAh battery is capable of 42 hours of social media scrolling or call time, or 29 hours of music streaming which should be good enough for a couple of long-haul flights, stop-over, and transfers. When the battery runs flat, a 30 minute charge results in another 10 hours of music streaming thanks to the 22.5W SuperCharge.
In case you are wondering, the fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the Honor X7a. The phone runs Honor's Magic UI 6.1 (Android 12) out of the box.
Available in Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black colorways, the Honor X7a can be ordered directly from £179 via Honor's online store or from Amazon, Argos, and Very.
