The next big thing to come from Samsung is the Galaxy S23 series which will launch in early 2023 and in the US at least, be powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. As you might expect, the leaks have started in earnest, the latest of which reveals the design of the Galaxy S23 as well as when it could launch.
When?
According to Ice Universe, Samsung will apparently launch the Galaxy S23 series on February 1 at an in-person event held in San Francisco. Depending on your region, the launch could fall on the 2nd of February. It's likely that the new Galaxy S series will be available to pre-order shortly after the event before going on general sale a couple of weeks later, as usually happens when Samsung launches a major product line.
What can we expect?
It doesn't appear that Samsung is making bold strides with the Galaxy S23 lineup but we should expect brighter displays with 1,750 nits peak brightness. The Galaxy S23 and S23+ will get slightly bigger batteries of 3,900mAh and 4,700mAh, respectively. The Ultra will retain its 5,000mAh battery and stay at the 45W charging speed of its predecessor.
What does the Galaxy S23 series look like?
Thanks to 91Mobiles, we have a promotional image of the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra to gawk at. Spoiler alert: It's an evolutionary update as opposed to a revolutionary one. The Galaxy S23+ is shown in a pink hue which is somewhat reminiscent of the Galaxy S9 series while the S23 Ultra is in an emerald green colorway. Hopefully, Samsung will offer more exciting colorways for the Galaxy S23 series but it's unlikely given the evolutionary design.
