We've already seen the rather bland renders of the Galaxy S23+ but now we have our first look at the flagship of the S series, the Galaxy S23 Ultra which continues where the S22 Ultra left off in terms of design. Likely to be officially announced during Q1 of 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still a few months off from being available to purchase.
As with the Galaxy S23+ renders, these images come via @OnLeaks and SmartPrix. As you can see from the render above, there are some changes in design between the two models with the S23 Ultra sporting raised camera housings as well as ever-so-slightly less rounded edges which should make it more comfortable to hold.
If it's not broke, don't fix it!
Whilst the above title is a little simplistic because we know that there will be other changes and enhancements on the Galaxy S23 Ultra over its precessor, I am disappointed that Samsung has played it safe. The big chunky Galaxy S21 Ultra is still one of my favorite designs, showing a boldness in Samsung's design language that we haven't really seen enough of over the past few years.
Internally, we fully expect to see the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor powering the Galaxy S23 series, with the Galaxy S23 Ultra packing in 12-16GB of RAM, and likely UFS 4.0 storage as well. Not forgetting the all-important S Pen which is stored in the built-in slot next to the speaker chamber and USB-C charging port.

Samsung has worked on its mistakes and created the perfect smartphone. I’ll say right away that it’s perfect for me, someone else won’t like it because of the size or price. Why did I buy it? Because I am a videographer. I shoot a lot of content on my phone and edit it on it. So it’s a working tool, so to speak. I’m completely satisfied with the mobilespecs.
I remember the time when I rushed to get the latest model as soon as it came out. With S21 Ultra, I have neither an incentive or desire to waste money on newer models anymore. I may look at S26 or S27 if there’s a significant, game changing breakthrough.
