Last year's Pixel 5a was something of a snoozefest when it came to its design but this year Google has aligned its new affordable handset's design with that of the premium Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. With pre-orders for the Pixel 6a live with a reasonable price tag of $449/£399, it would seem that Google could have yet another winner in the affordable segment. And, depending on where you place your pre-order, Google will sweeten the pot even further by throwing in the Pixel Buds-A (worth $99/£99) at no extra cost.
Powered by Google's Tensor processor which debuted on the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 6a also has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. Remember that this is a Pixel so there's no MicroSD card support present. There's both mmWave 5G and Sub 5G connectivity which means that its compatible with more carriers. Google claims that the 4,410mAh battery should be good for a day's usage, which will hopefully hold true although Pixel's aren't renowned for stellar battery life. Neither are they known for speedy charging, and the Pixel 6a is no different with 18W charging. One thing that is missing from previous A-series phones is the audio jack which is not present on the Pixel 6a.
