Samsung has finally called time on software and security updates for the Galaxy S9 series that launched way back in 2018. Considering its release date, no one would have ever thought that Samsung would turn around its reputation for poor software support but here in 2022 it has done just that. In fact, Samsung is pretty much the best brand for software and security updates in the Android world. Now that it has pulled the official software and security update for the Galaxy S9, we'd like to know if you plan to carry on using the phone or if you are going to upgrade to a new phone handset.

Having been upgraded from Oreo all the way up to Android 10, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have finally come to the end of the road in terms of software support. And while that doesn't spell immediate obsoletion, it does mean that the phone's security will slowly get more out of date as time moves on.

Upgrading from the Galaxy S9 series to something launched in 2022 such as the new Galaxy S22 series should bring a noticeable boost in performance in most departments. If the Galaxy S22 series is a bit too expensive, you'll be glad to learn that the mid-range flagship has lots to offer with the likes of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G and Samsung's own Galaxy A series, and is certainly a more viable option than it was 4 years ago.
