Samsung's next Fan Edition phone and flagship tablet lineup may be inching closer to launch. The Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 have appeared in an internal Google app list tied to free Google AI trials for new device owners.

It seems the brand is preparing the two products for release, although Samsung hasn't announced either device yet. But the discovery could offer an early clue about when they might arrive. A September launch is looking possible, based on last year's schedule.

Galaxy Unpacked is so close, yet so far

Android Authority has found references to the Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 in the Google app's internal code. Samsung appears to be preparing two major Galaxy launches later this year.

The revealed image shows “EFT” firmware listings for the unreleased Samsung devices, among which was spotted the Galaxy Tab S12 and Galaxy S26 FE. The Engineering Field Test shows pre-release firmware builds the company uses internally and sends to select carriers or testers before a phone officially launches.

The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 were also spotted in the same list shortly before their expected debut. The discovery doesn't reveal anything on specifications, pricing, or an official launch date. However, Samsung's previous release schedule provides some clues.

The Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series both launched in September 2025, making September 2026 a reasonable window for their successors. There's also a possibility that the brand could introduce them earlier, maybe in August.

Watch Ultra 2 will make a stylish appearance at the event

The next Galaxy Unpacked event is happening on Wednesday, July 22, where the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 appear to be launching. They appeared in India's BIS certification database back in June, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 listed under the SM-F971B model number. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 appeared as SM-L715F.

The database itself doesn't reveal specifications, but earlier FCC certification and leaks point to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 featuring a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It has a 50MP main camera and 50MP ultrawide camera with a 4,800mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging and weighing around 200 grams.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is rumored to come with a much larger 800mAh battery, 5G connectivity, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. Leaker Evan Blass revealed promotional material days ahead of the event, including an internal diagram with a visible “Powered by Snapdragon Wear Elite” badge.

This is the first time Samsung is finally dropping its own Exynos chip for wearables and switching to Qualcomm's newest 3-nanometer Snapdragon Wear Elite silicon.

The battery slide shows a notable 35% 800 mAh leap from the original Watch Ultra, which only had 590mAh. The device will also come with IP69K resistance, currently the highest level of Ingress Protection, and Titanium split across the frame along with up to 5,000 nits confirmed on the display.
