Carrier billing is one of those neat features in life that lets you buy something on the Play Store and pay for it when your bill arrives from your service provider. Unless you are a Verizon or Boost Mobile customer that is because it's now confirmed that they are no longer supported on the Play Store due to ‘a business decision' on the carrier's part.

According to an email shared by a Verizon subscriber to Android Police, the carrier says that carrier billing will cease from February 22. Customers have been advised to update their subscriptions and to add a different form of payment if they've signed up to a service using carrier billing.

It's unclear why Verizon has taken the decision to quit supporting carrier billing for the Play Store although like almost everything these days, it will probably boil down to wanting a bigger slice of the pie for itself.

If you are a Verizon customer, how do you feel about carrier billing being terminated from February 22nd? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
