eSIM connectivity is one of those great technological features that could revolutionize the way we interact with carriers but hasn't quite fulfilled its potential just yet. If you have a Galaxy S21 Ultra in the US, though, you can activate the eSIM function but only if you've enrolled on the One UI 4.0 beta program.
Allowing users to sign up to carriers without needing to use a physical SIM card, eSIM functionality could give consumers more choice than ever before but only if manufacturers and carriers get on the same page. Besides needing their Galaxy S21 Ultra to be running on the Android 12/One UI 4.0 beta, users are also required by Samsung to scan a QR code for carrier activations.
Quite why it's taken Samsung so long to activate the eSIM function on the Galaxy S21 Ultra is anyone's guess but late is always better than never. Is eSIM connectivity something you've been waiting for or is it yet another feature that you have no plans on using?
