Verizon may not be making major acquisitions like AT&T and DirecTV, but that doesn't mean they're not trying to muscle into the streaming game. Today the carrier has announced Verizon Stream TV, a streaming device that seems pretty solid and not terribly expensive.

So what's up with this new Android TV box? Well, it's still Android at its core, but Verizon has its own interface that tries to bring the content that you actually want to see to the surface. It works with all the usual services like Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and more, and seems like it puts a Verizon spin on Android TV's up next and recommended features, which is fine.
It's also got a pretty nifty feature that lets you double tap the box on the remote to find it, which works with the Google Assistant capabilities of the remote itself. However, it does look like it's lacking Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, which seems odd for a $69 box. Verizon is running some promos where customers can get one for free, however, which makes it a little more palatable.
For everyone else, you're probably gonna want to stick to a Roku or Fire Stick.
