POCO X3

The budget smartphone segment is getting more capable and more crowded than ever, with the latest entrant being the POCO X3 NFC that will cost just £199 when it goes on sale in the UK on September 17th. That £199 (~$260) gets you the recently announced Snapdragon 732G chipset, a 120HZ display, 33W fast-charging, and a foursome of rear cameras.

Accompanying the 8nm SD732G processor is 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, a big 6.67-inch FHD+ display with 240Hz touch sampling, and 120Hz refresh rate, and dual stereo speakers. There's a 5,160mAh battery present with 33W fast-charging, an IR blaster, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3.5mm audio jack. As you might expect from the name, NFC connectivity is also present, which means the POCO X3 does indeed support mobile payment apps. It even has an IP53 rating for splash-resistance, which is kinda unusual at this price point.

The quad-camera setup on the rear panel boasts a 48MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP dedicated macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The POCO X3 NFC runs MIUI 12 out of the box which is based on Android 10, with a promise of three years worth of system updates from the brand.

Going on sale from September 17th in the UK and tomorrow in the rest of Europe, the POCO X3 NFC comes in Shadow Gray and Cobalt Blue colors. Priced from €229/£199 for the 6GB/64GB variant, the 6GB/128GB version will cost €269/£249, although an early-bird promotion will run from September 17th – October 7th where it will be available for €249/£229 from Mi.com and Amazon.

For the moment, there's no word on when or if the handset is coming to the US market.
