When Samsung announced that it would provide three years worth of OS upgrades for handsets stretching as far back as the Galaxy S10, it would have been reasonable to assume that the Galaxy S9 had reached the end of its support schedule and that it wouldn't receive any further significant updates. Thankfully though, the Galaxy S9 series, as well as the Galaxy Note 9, would appear to be getting the One UI 2.5 update. And just in case you weren't sure, the One UI 2.5 update is also coming to newer handsets, which we've listed for you below.

According to Samsung's own press release where it states that the “Galaxy S20 gets even more powerful with new update”, the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9 are mentioned in tiny text, along with the other phones that will be updated to One UI 2.5.
- Entire Galaxy S20 series
- Entire Galaxy Note 20 series
- Galaxy S10 series
- Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G
- Entire Galaxy Note 10 series
- Galaxy Note 9
- Galaxy S9 and S9+
- All Galaxy Fold/Z Fold models
So, it's great news for Galaxy S9, S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 owners. If Samsung could extend similar support to the Galaxy Tab S5E that launched in 2019, now that would be swell.
