OPPO Reno Ace 2 5G

As we wrap up our review of the impressively stylish Find X2 Pro, OPPO is gearing up to launch another powerhouse of a phone in the form of the Reno Ace 2 5G on April 13th, the day before the OnePlus 8 Series is unveiled. As with the Find X2 Pro, the OPPO Reno 2 Ace 5G is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor and 65W fast (wired) charging is also present, there is also a brand new feature making its debut; 40W fast wireless charging.

The Reno Ace 2 5G made its way through China's TENAA in March where the following specifications were revealed:

  • Display: 6.5-Inch AMOLED Display with FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080)
  • Front Camera: 16MP Punch-hole selfie camera in the top-left corner of the display
  • Processor: Snapdragon 865 (with integrated 5G modem)
  • Memory: 8GB/12GB RAM
  • Storage: 128GB/256GB Built-in Storage
  • Software: Android 10, ColorOS
  • Dimensions: 160 x 75.4 x 8.6mm
  • Weight: 185g
  • Colors: Black, Blue, Purple

Since its predecessor, the Reno Ace, launched back in October with a 90Hz display there's a good chance that the Reno Ace 2 5G could feature a 120Hz panel. We also expect that the new phone will have a 4,000mAh battery that could consist of a dual battery setup of 2 x 1,955mAh units, with 40W fast wireless charging and 65W fast wired charging.

Thanks to OPPO's Vice President, Brian Shen, posting on Weibo earlier today, we know that all will be revealed on April 13th, just eleven days from now.
