Vizio is easily one of the most popular TV manufacturers in the market, and they're more than happy to compete in whatever segment they can. Whether that's smaller budget-friendly sets, mid-range TVs aimed at cord-cutting enthusiasts, or the high-end market for someone chasing the perfect home theater, Vizio usually has an option available.
They're finally addressing the one market that they don't currently compete in: OLED televisions.
Vizio has announced their first OLED set, joining LG and Sony as the only manufacturers in the space and beating Samsung to the punch. They're pretty standard compared to what's already available, and it should deliver perfect blacks and vibrant contrast that you just can't get on an LCD. Vizio's going to have to stand out with image processing and performance, though, which is where the FreeSync and variable refresh rate support comes in.
We're still waiting on pricing for these sets, but expect it in 2020 in both 55 and 65-inch models.

Below the OLEDs, Vizio has also updated their entire lineup of regular LCD TVs. Everything has been upgraded to HDMI 2.1 and features less than 15 milliseconds of input lag, and that's across all HDMI ports. For watching TV, that's not a huge deal, but this does position Vizio TVs as an excellent choice for a gaming set. Between the excellent picture quality and fast response times, they're a pretty killer choice for someone that spends as much time playing Xbox as watching TV. The whole lineup also supports Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple's HomeKit and AirPlay 2 integration.
Vizio has also upgraded the processor in all of their televisions, with everything sporting the new ProGaming Engine, except the entry level V-Series which utilizes its own V-Gaming Engine. They'll also support a slew of HDR standards, including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, and now HDR10+. If you just really want a future-proofed 4K TV, it's hard to argue that Vizio hasn't brought it.
