Android 11 might stop turning off Bluetooth when you use airplane mode 3

Airplane mode is useful in a ton of situations, not the least of which is when you're on an airplane and want to avoid serious battery drain because your smartphone is searching for a non-existent cell signal. But it can be pretty annoying when airplane mode also disconnects your Bluetooth headphones or other connected accessories.

That feature might get a little more intelligent with Android 11. According to a new commit in AOSP, airplane mode will be “smart” about turning off radios in the next version of Android. If you're using a Bluetooth headset to listen to music, or even if you have a Bluetooth-enabled hearing aid in, airplane mode won't turn off Bluetooth. It'll still nix your cellular and WiFi radios, but it won't interrupt your music, which should make those plane rides a little more enjoyable.

If you're not a fan of wireless headphones, then this won't really affect you. It'll be intelligent, after all, so if you don't have headphones in then it'll still kill the Bluetooth radios along with the other two.
