Huawei's ongoing troubles with the US government's decision to place it on the ‘entity' list came just before the launch of the Honor 20 Pro on May 21st. The impact of the blacklisting meant that although the regular Honor 20 achieved Google certification before the cutoff date of May 16th, the Pro version was left in limbo. It seems that there has been some sort of progress since the launch with the Honor 20 Pro having apparently gaining certification by Google.

Just to refresh your memory, the Honor 20 Pro features a 6.26-inch IPS display with a punch-hole design that houses the 32MP selfie camera. Instead of being located on the rear panel or underneath the display, there is a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Under the hood, there is the powerful Kirin 980 octa-core processor with AI smarts, 6GB/8GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB of internal storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with SuperCharge technology. There are four cameras on the back of the phone consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP Super Wide Angle lens, an 8MP Telephoto lens, and a 2MP dedicated Macro Camera. In terms of software, the Honor 20 Pro runs Honor's Magic OS 2.1 which is based on Android 9 Pie.
