Pursuit of the ultimate bezelless design has been the focus of mobile design for the last few years, and Samsung has just reaffirmed their efforts to finally hide that selfie cam for good.
Ever since Xiaomi's original Mi Mix launched at the tail-end of 2016, the mobile world has been obsessed with perfecting the bezelless design and finally reaching all-display nirvana; no matter how great some phones may already look.
However, no matter how far we have managed to come on reducing bezels to near-zero, the problem of the selfie camera has remained; whether to remove it, throw it in a display cutout, or stick it in a mechanically vulnerable slider, it has been the bane of manufacturers' designs.
However, over the last year or so we have heard tales of a fabled ‘under-display camera', where the CMOS sensor could be placed below the display whilst still being able to function normally; thus hiding it completely.
Well, though it's not the first time they've talked about the technology, Samsung has just confirmed that there is such a functional all-display future coming as they have reaffirmed their working on it.
Unfortunately the company has again elected to remain mute on any details so don't expect it any time soon; late 2020-2021 is the earliest I could imagine any real info or demos to be released, unfortunately.
Still, it's great to be reminded again of tech's ceaseless march forwards.

What’s the big deal with Bezellessness? I’d much rather have chins & foreheads with some fat crankin speakers.
It’s just cool I guess, see my Meizu 16s coverage if you wanna see the thinnest forehead and chin around!
