General Mechanics & Features
In this section, we will tackle all the basic mechanics and features you can access in Sea of Conquest, as well as how to fully utilize them to make your account progress smoothly and quickly.
Story & Progression

Sea of Conquest’s story revolves around Henry Hell and his crew as they get into classic pirate shenanigans—treasure-hunting, booze, brawls, evading authorities, and the like.
You can follow the game’s story by tracking tasks listed in the Main Plot. Conveniently enough, your Main Plot tasks will always be displayed on your main screen, so it’s very easy to know what you need to do next to advance the story.
We highly recommend prioritizing all your Main Plot tasks especially if you’re a beginner, as this allows you to unlock more features such as Artifacts and other game modes.
NOTE: Following the Main Plot is also one of the easiest ways to earn Adventure Experience, increasing your Adventure Level and allowing you to level up your heroes further beyond for more Power.
Heroes

You can collect various heroes in the game and invest resources in them to make them stronger. Heroes, like Ships, are divided into three rarities:
- Legendary (Orange)
- Epic (Purple)
- Rare (Blue)
Legendary heroes are the rarest in the game, but they’re stronger than any Epic or Rare hero provided you get enough of their Hero Badges and rank them up by getting duplicates of them.

All of the heroes you collected can be deployed both in hero-vs-hero battles and ship battles, where they can be assigned either of the three positions or roles in your ship:
- Captain
- First Mate
- Gunner
Aside from heroes who are Jack-of-all-trades which gives you a +20% stat bonus no matter where you assign them, a hero will not perform to their fullest if you put them in a position they are not proficient in.
Choosing the right heroes to invest in and put in your fleet is crucial if you want to excel above all the other players in your server, as the performance of your ships relies heavily on their hero crew.
TIP: Investing in only a few Legendary heroes is recommended, especially if you’re F2P. This is because they unlock all their skills at 4★, which they can only achieve if you get their duplicate twice. Remember, when it comes to heroes, it’s quality over quantity!
Ships

Just like heroes, you can obtain more ships aside from your Flagship (i.e. your “main ship”) and add them to your fleet.
They're divided into three rarities as well, but you can also categorize ships according to which damage type they're specialized for, or whether they're built for DPS or tanking damage for your fleet instead.
All of the ships you put in your fleet contribute to your total Power, which directly translates to how high your damage and survivability in ship battles is.
Ship Parts (e.g. Sails, Wheels, Cannons, and Figureheads) also give the ships in your fleet a significant boost in Power, so don't forget to farm them from sea monsters!

Another ship-related feature you need to take note of is the Cabin feature, which allows you to access various rooms that you can build and upgrade in your Flagship.
Not only do Cabins increase your fleet's overall Power, but they can also provide you with resources such as Gold, Iron, Wood, and cooking materials for recipe-related events.
Exploration

Exploring the world map as often as you can is very important if you want to maximize the amount of resources you get per day. Exploration activities include, but are not limited to:
- Familiarizing yourself with ports
- Hunting treasures
- Interacting with Mist Events
- Occupying Mines or Woodlands
Doing these three activities regularly will provide you with a steady influx of resources, particularly lots of Single Piece Vol. 3, Speed-ups, Adventure EXP, building materials, and even Echo Conches or Emeralds.
TIP: You can use two artifacts—the Eye of the Sea and the Storm Horn—to travel faster while exploring. Use them wisely by only activating the Storm Horn if you're at least three minutes away from your destination and the Eye of the Sea if you need to get somewhere urgently.
Trading Goods

Out of all the ways you can make Gold in Sea of Conquest, trading is by far the most lucrative and reliable. You can buy and sell goods in different ports for profit by visiting either Trading Venues, Black Markets, or Vendors.
Each port sells different goods, and sometimes, they will also have goods that are “sought after”, which sell for way more Gold than what they’re worth.
You can check out which ports have “sought after” goods by simply opening your world map and looking up which ports have a green arrow pointing upwards beside their name.
TIP: You get 20% bonus profits for goods you sell in ports that your Gang has occupied. Keep this in mind if you have any treasures to sell or if you’re looking for the ideal Auto-trading spot!
Stalls

Stalls are shops where you can exchange in-game currencies for a variety of items. You can unlock stalls by building the “Stalls” cabin on your ship, which is a requirement in the early stages of the Main Plot.
| All Trade Stalls | Currencies Required | Items Sold |
|---|---|---|
| Baron’s Fleet | Gold & Emeralds | Echo Conches Ship Upgrade Materials Hero Skill Upgrade Materials Speed-ups Gold Wood Iron |
| Honor Locker | Pirate Honor Points | Single Pieces Vol. 4 Single Pieces Vol. 3 Speed-ups |
| Cartographer’s Corner | World Emblems | Echo Conches Ship Upgrade Materials Hero Skill Upgrade Materials Ship Part Chests Cap'n' Gold Tooth Frame Sails Twilight Shards |
| Rogue’s Retailer | Rogue’s Coins | Wanted Captains Lists Echo Conches Gold Wood Iron |
| Bloodstone Emporium | Bloodstones | Echo Conches Sails Gold Wood Iron |
| Market | Gang Seals | Ship Dyes Echo Conches Hero Skill Upgrade Materials Speed-ups |
| Hero Token Exchange | Hero Tokens | Wanted Captain’s Lists Echo Conches Hymn Conches Hero Skill Upgrade Materials Single Pieces Vol. 3 |
| Guild Emporium | Guild Reputation & Emeralds | Ship Buffs Legendary Heroes Echo Conches Hymn Conches Guild Sails Smuggling Warrants Single Pieces Vol. 3 |
| Parlor | Emeralds & Chips | Wanted Captain’s Lists Echo Conches Twilight Shards Gold Wood Iron |
| Dock Merchant | Emeralds | Echo Conches Ship Upgrade Materials Copper Hammer Badges Hero Skill Upgrade Materials Painting Tools Shipwright’s Hammers Heart of Atonements Speed-ups Gold Wood Iron |
As you can see from the table above, you can buy a lot of extremely valuable and rare items if you could just farm the currencies required to purchase them.
Keep an eye out for the Baron’s Fleet specifically, as this stall offers some of the best deals you can get in the game. It becomes available at random times throughout the day and disappears after two hours, so stay on your toes!
TIP: In general, the best items to prioritize buying in stalls are Echo Conches, Hymn Conches, and Hero Skill Upgrade Materials as they’ll become increasingly hard to come by and be a constant requirement for power-ups the longer you play the game. Although, feel free to pick up whatever you need so long as they’re cost-effective.
Sea of Conquest: Seven Gameplay Tips
To help you determine which tasks to either prioritize or avoid so you can become a better pirate captain, here are some useful tips that you should follow while playing Sea of Conquest!
Join A Gang ASAP

Joining a Gang or creating your own is one of the best things you can do as soon as you start playing, as being a member of any Gang gives you access to the following highly beneficial features:
- Construction Speed Bonuses
- Stargazing Rate Bonuses
- Free Speed-ups via “Help”
- Lots of free items
- Gang occupation benefits for Ports, Forts, and Sentries
- Gang Seals for the Market stall
- Gang-related Events
Try to join a Gang that has a lot of active members—preferably ones that are also high up in your server’s Gang leaderboard. This way, you’re sure to get a lot of free Speed-ups through the Help feature and free items such as Wood, Iron, Gold, and even Emeralds in the Gang’s Stash.
Just remember to always donate, participate in gang activities, and help other members out in monster or ship hunts to make sure you’re giving back as much as you receive from your Gang!
Unlock Friendly Relations With Guilds ASAP

Achieving “Friendly” relations or above with a Guild is very important because it allows you to unlock Auto-trading in a port that’s affiliated with a specific Guild. You cannot Auto-trade on a port that’s owned by a Guild that you only have “Neutral” relations with.
We recommend achieving “Friendly” relations with all Guilds first, then focusing on improving relations with one Guild that allows you to unlock a Legendary Hero at max-level relations (i.e. Worship) in the Guild Emporium stall.
Here are all the Guilds that allow you to unlock Legendary heroes for purchase in the Guild Emporium upon reaching “Worship” relations:
| Best Guilds To Prioritize Relations With | Legendary Hero Unlocked |
|---|---|
| Golden Pyramid Alliance | Lester |
| Transylvania Trade Company | Sharky |
| Plantegenest Guild | Luna |
Never Leave The Game Without Auto-Trading

Auto-trading is one of the best ways to earn Gold in Sea of Conquest, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t set an Auto-trade route before leaving the game.
Fun fact, you can also still Auto-trade while playing PVP or PVE game modes such as Rogue’s Rumble, Strait Clashes, Squad Raids, and Trials. Unless you need to move your ship in the world map for a specific task, remember to always be on Auto-trade.

The longer the distance between ports you set an Auto-trade route with, the longer the Auto-trade will take, but the more Gold you earn.
Do keep in mind that longer Auto-trades don’t mean more gold per hour and that there are a few factors that affect the results of your Auto-trading sessions, such as sought-after Goods or increased profits for Gang-affiliated ports.
Always Consume Your Stamina, Monster Slay Rewards, & Artifact Charges

Aside from waiting, there is no way for you to increase your Stamina in Sea of Conquest. This is why you must spend it as often as you can by sinking Armed Freighters or Merchant Ships—unless you’re saving up for events or gang-related tasks.
The same goes for your five daily-limit slay rewards for monsters, which are only refilled every 24 hours. Call on your fellow Gang members and try to hunt strong monsters with higher levels than you for better rewards!
Your artifacts have their set cooldowns and daily limits too, so make sure you’re always using them to not waste all the time reductions and resources you can potentially get:
| All Season 1 Artifacts | Cooldowns & Usage Limits |
|---|---|
| Golden Compass | 20 uses per day |
| Storm Horn | 20-minute cooldown per use |
| Eye of the Sea | 5-hour cooldown per use |
| Hourglass of Time | 12-hour cooldown per use |
Keep An Eye Out For Limited-Time Events

If you want to farm lots of free items (who doesn’t?) in Sea of Conquest, then participating in time-limited Events is by far the best way to do it if you’re an active player.
Another very important reason why you should join a Gang is that some Events are centered around Gang-related activities. Of course, there are other events that you can finish by yourself as well, but you get more rewards just by being in a Gang.
For example, one Event in particular that features Gang vs Gang battles called “Showdown O’ Gangs” is one of the very few sources of Hymn Conches, which is one of the rarest items in the game.
Save Your Hymn Conches For Guaranteed Pulls

Getting Echo Conches is easy enough as long as you know where to look, but Hymn Conches are way harder to farm simply because it’s the more “premium” version of the two hero-summoning items.
Unless you’re willing to spend lots of real cash buying premium packages with Hymn conches on them, then we suggest saving your Hymn Conches for one massive pull. Preferably, you'd go all-in on the banner of a hero you think your fleet will benefit from having the most.
You are guaranteed one Legendary hero in Limited Recruitment banners within 80 pulls as pity, so try to save up to 80 Hymn Conches before pulling to ensure that you at least get one copy of the featured Legendary hero you want.
Spend Your Emeralds Wisely

Emeralds are among the most important resources in the game—if not the most important. You can use it to buy Echo Conches, speed up Cabin upgrades and Stargazing rates, buy items in the stall, and even purchase Wood, Iron, or Gold if required.
With that said, we highly recommend tracking how much Emeralds you spend daily, as you can deplete your reserves quite easily considering how versatile this item is.
As we’ve mentioned before, the best place to spend your Emeralds (or Gold for that matter) is on the Baron’s Fleet—a time-limited stall that becomes available randomly throughout the day and goes away after two hours.
Conclusion
Sea of Conquest is a complex game that requires quite a bit of familiarizing if you want to play as efficiently as possible and don’t want to encounter any roadblocks in your progress. All the information above will certainly help you with that, so make sure to remember them while you play!
