In Sea of Conquest, you can build and upgrade multiple ships, choose which ship parts to mount, assign heroes to your fleet, and install a variety of rooms (i.e. Cabins) to your Flagship. All this allows you to customize your ideal seafaring vessel fully to your liking.

Sea of Conquest: All Ship Features & Mechanics
Your performance in ship battles relies heavily on how often you upgrade your:
- Flagship
- Side Ships
- Cabins
- Ship Parts
- Hero Crew
These five ship-related features influence your fleet's individual stats (ATK, IMP, AMR, HP, etc.) and, by extension, your fleet's total Power level.
Flagship
Your Flagship is your “main” ship. It's the ship that generally has the most Power in your fleet and the one that your Side Ships follow while you're exploring the high seas.
Out of all the ships in your fleet, your Flagship is also the only one where you can build and upgrade Cabins. More importantly, once your Flagship sinks while in combat, it'll be an instant Game Over and you'll have to respawn in a nearby port to continue fighting.
Considering how important your Flagship is, upgrading it should always be among your top priorities while playing Sea of Conquest. To do this, you'll need to farm lots of Gold and upgrade all the Cabins set as upgrade requirements.
TIP: Your Flagship's Sailing Speed determines how fast you can move while exploring. Increasing the Sailing Speed of your Side Ships will not affect it, so if you want to go fast, you'll have to invest in your Flagship's Sailing Speed!
Side Ships
Side Ships can be built with Ship Designs and added to your fleet to further boost your damage, health, and overall Power. They also have unique skills that cater to specific hero compositions and damage types.
Early in the game, you'll have access to two Side Ship slots. You can unlock more Side Ships slots once you upgrade your Flagship to Level 22 (3rd Side Ship slot) and Level 31 (4th Side Ship slot).
Like in your Flagship, you can also assign heroes to your Side Ships and mount Ship Parts on them to boost their stats. You cannot build Cabins on them, however.
To upgrade Side Ships, you need Gold and the following upgrade materials depending on their rarity:

TIP: Unlike your Flagship which functions generally well when built as an all-rounder, your Side Ships will perform better when you build them with a specific role and damage type in mind. We recommend checking your Side Ships' skills so you can determine the best heroes and Ship Parts to put on them!
Cabins
Cabins are rooms that you can build in your Flagship. Each cabin serves a unique purpose, but all of them increase your fleet's total Power—some Cabins more than others, of course.
Upgrading Cabins improves their effects and requires Gold, Wood, Iron, and some waiting time. The maximum level of some cabins is restricted by your Flagship level, which means you cannot upgrade them beyond the current level of your Flagship.
Upon being built, you'll be able to arrange the Cabins within your Flagship as you please. As you level up your Flagship and increase the number of rooms you can build, you can remove or “Stow” the rooms you don't use and replace them with more useful ones.
TIP: You can use Speed-ups to increase your Construction Speed and Stargazing Speed, but did you know that there's another way to reduce the waiting time for your upgrades? Your fellow Gangmates can do this via the “Help” feature, so make sure to join a Gang that has lots of active members if you want free Speed-ups!
Ship Parts
Ship customization in Sea of Conquest is one of its most fun (and sometimes headache-inducing) features. You can collect various ship cosmetics such as Dyes, Skins, and Trail Effects, but they're mostly for aesthetic purposes and barely affect your gameplay.
What matters are your Ship Parts, all of which significantly affect the DPS, survivability, and overall Power of your Flagship and Side Ships. Each Ship Part is also categorized by its rarity and set type.
A Ship Part's rarity dictates how many substats you can unlock upon enhancing them with Starlight Shards or other Ship Parts:

A Ship Part's set type, on the other hand, dictates what kind of bonuses you get if you equip one or three more Ship Parts of the same set:

Hero Crew
You can collect a variety of heroes in Sea of Conquest and have them participate in hero vs hero battles, but you can also deploy them in your ship's Captain, First Mate, and Gunner crew slots.
All heroes have a designated role, each determining which slot in the ship's crew they'll fit in the most:
- Captain (Preferred Slot: Slot 1)
- First Mate (Preferred Slot: Slot 2)
- Gunner (Preferred Slot: Slot 3)
- Jack-of-all-trades (Any Slot)
If you deploy a hero into their preferred slots, they will gain a 20% attribute boost—giving your ship additional stats and Power.
TIP: Always keep a hero's role in mind while deploying them in your Flagship and Side Ships. You can get away with not doing this in your early levels, but as you get into the later stages of the game, the 20% attribute boost will be too good to pass up!

Listed below are all the ships you can build in Sea of Conquest and a brief run-through of their base stats and skills.
Warhammer
The Warhammer is considered one of the best ships (if not the best ship) in the game. It specializes in dealing tons of damage and performs best when boarded by Cutthroat heroes.

The Fearless Princess is a strong contender for the best DPS-oriented ship in the game, provided you have strong Strategist heroes to board it.

The Crimson Sentinel is a DPS-heavy ship that specializes in dealing in DoT (damage-over-time), making it the perfect ship for Blazing or Drowning heroes.

Unlike most other ships, the Dragon Lance prioritizes survivability over DPS. Ideally, you’d want Defensive or Taunt heroes boarding this ship, or at least the ones that have the most HP or AMR currently on your roster.

The Black Raven is an often underrated offensive ship that’s quite versatile, as it increases your damage no matter which heroes you use.
This means that you can put just about any hero in this ship, but ideally, ones that have high ATK or IMP and whose skills are well-suited for attacking.

Four Tips On How To Make The Best Fleet Of Pirate Ships
To help you optimize the performance of your ships in Sea of Conquest, here are some of the best tips that you should take note of while building your fleet!
Prioritize HP and AMR For Your Flagship
When choosing Ship Parts and heroes for your Flagship, it’s generally the best choice to go for the build with the highest HP and AMR stat—as seen in the image above.
This usually entails mounting a full Sovereign o’ the Sea Ship Part set and deploying tanky heroes like Ahab and Armstrong on your Flagship. Cordelia would be a good addition to your Flagship for the extra survivability as well, but if you want better healing, put her on a Side Ship with high ATK instead.
Build Your Fleet Around The Heroes You Have
The easiest way to choose which ships to put in your fleet is to check which heroes you managed to get so far from Conch summons or other sources.
For example, the Crimson Sentinel would be perfect for your fleet if you have heroes like Lester, Will, or Ned already on your roster—all of which are Blazing heroes who do Burning-type damage that this particular ship boosts.
On the other hand, if you have a roster full of Strategist heroes like Delilah, Boa, or Molly instead, then consider using the Fearless Princess, or the Black Raven if you're F2P.
Don’t Fixate On Rarities
Choosing Legendary (Orange) Ship Parts and heroes over Epic (Purple) and Rare (Blue) ones might feel tempting, but sometimes, it just isn’t the right choice—especially so if you’re F2P.
For example, a 6-star Epic or Rare hero that has the same role and damage type will most likely outperform a 2-star Legendary hero, so consider swapping them out from your crew as you see fit!
The same goes for Ship Parts, although we don't recommend using anything below Epic-rarity parts. As you can see from the image above, two of the same set type of Wheels have different rarities, but the Epic Wheel has a higher Ship Lv. Requirement and provides a bit more stat boosts despite having the lower rarity and Power boost.
Don’t be afraid to invest some enhancing materials in Epic Ship Parts like this, especially if you don’t have Legendary Ship Parts that have a high enough Ship Level Requirement or stat boosts.
Always Keep An Eye Out For Free Ships
Ship Designs are pretty hard to come by unless you go P2W, but Sea of Conquest does give its F2P players a chance to acquire more ships for free, mostly via events.
One such event is the Pirate King’s Trail. All beginner players can access it, and upon completion, it gives you the Crimson Sentinel ship (as shown in the image above)!
Be warned though, as this particular event has a one-week deadline. In fact, most events that give away valuable items like heroes, Conches, or Ship Designs are time-limited, so remember to complete these events as soon as you can!
