Motorola Brazil lets slip details, images of Moto G7 lineup 3

Motorola is preparing to launch their new mid-range smartphone line, the Motorola Moto G7. The company has not been too overly concerned with concealing details, but a recent flub by their Brazil site for employees may have gone a bit too far when it posted images and details about the phones. As expected and as we have seen with so many other features, what starts with the flagships eventually falls down the market stack to lower levels. In the case of notches, we see that with the new Moto G7 devices.

As we previously covered, Motorola is bringing some variety to the notches scene as different versions of the Moto G7 get different sizes and shapes for their notches. These range from a small teardrop type notch to a more traditional wide notch spanning a significant portion of the top edge.

Another change that will be made as Motorola maximizes screen real estate is moving the fingerprint sensor to the back of the device. Fortunately for Motorola, their design over the years has traditionally included a logo in a circle which makes the hiding the fingerprint sensor a bit easier. It is certainly not as obtrusive as other implementations.

The Moto G7 devices will also have some other differences outside of the notches. For instance, the Moto G7 Plus will get a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 636 processor versus the Snapdragon 632 of the Moto G7, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power. Meanwhile, the Moto G7 Play gets a 5.7-inch screen while all the others in the line-up get 6.2-inch or better displays. The Moto G7 Power distinguishes itself in the lineup by coming equipped with a whopping 5,000 mAh battery.

No pricing or availability for the Moto G7 lineup has been hinted at yet, although Motorola has some events scheduled in early February which should reveal these details.
