Google adds more international data coverage to Project Fi 4

Google has been quietly tweaking and improving Project Fi, and this time they're adding a little bit more to their Bill Protection feature. We covered some of the new aspects of that feature recently, including new “unlimited” data for Project Fi, but this time Google is bumping up the number of countries that are covered under their international data packages.

Previously, Project Fi offered international data in 135 countries, but that number has been increased to 170, including some countries like Monaco and Nigeria. The rest of the plan is the same and works like it does in the US, and you'll still get unlimited texting and 20 cents per minute phone calls.

To top this feature off, Project Fi will scan your Gmail account for any upcoming trips and tell you ahead of time whether or not you'll have cellular coverage at your destination. Kinda creepy, but also kinda cool. Typical Google.
