Look at T-Mobile's brand. The vibe you get from its advertisements and social media behavior is exciting. Millennials love that, and they've been the largest of the groups flocking to T-Mobile quarter after quarter. It's not exactly an image built to attract an older crowd, though. So now T-Mobile has a plan made specifically for those age 55 and up.
The T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+ plan gives you two lines for $60 per month, taxes and fees included.
Nothing is different between this new plan and the T-Mobile One plan introduced a year ago. The newest offering is merely a ploy to attract older customers by giving them a lower price. With the One Unlimited 55+ plan, you're getting two lines with unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data for $60 per month rather than $100 per month if you're not at least 55 years old.
Video streaming is restricted to 480p quality. If you need to enjoy all video at its intended resolution, you can grab a $10 per month add-on. A whopping 10GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data comes with that, too.
Other benefits like unlimited data in Mexico in Canada, in-flight texting and data through Gogo, and T-Mobile Tuesdays are also included at no extra cost.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere talks about what's new
To get on the plan, T-Mobile will need proof that you're actually meeting the age requirement. That means whipping out your ID is necessary no matter how old you look. Existing customers, too, will have to manually switch from their current plan to the new one if eligible.
John Legere, T-Mobile's CEO, explained why the company debuted an age-specific plan. Roughly 8% of postpaid customers 55 and up in the U.S. are on T-Mobile while 81% are on Verizon and AT&T.
The T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+ plan goes live online and in stores on Wednesday, August 9.
