Google Play Music has been rocking the same interface for a while now, so it only makes sense that it would get an update to catch up to some of Google's other products. That interface change has finally hit, polishing up Google's music streaming app.

It's not a complete overhaul, as most of the changes are on the main screen of the app as seen above. Instead of launching into tons of squares for recently listened music and suggested radio stations, GPM will now list off things it thinks you'll like to listen to based on several factors.

You'll still get recommendations based on your music taste, which is pretty standard for any music app in 2016. But going beyond that, you'll now get some contextual suggestions because you like to listen to this one specific album in the evening, or you like this band while you're at the gym. Some of these suggestions are even based on the weather, according to Google.

This update fits right in with the rest of Google's services that want to give you information and answers without you having to ask the question. It's significantly more personalized than other services, which is something that only Google can accurately do.

Google Play Music also boasts a new feature for downloading an offline playlist for subscribers automatically. So as long as you're subscribed, Google will cover you if you run into an area with no reception.

Downside: the new home screen shows much less information than it did before, and your recently listened music is now a couple taps away instead of sitting right on the home screen. Had to make a tradeoff somewhere.
