T-Mobile is kicking off a new promotion that starts tomorrow, July 13th, and it's one of the carrier's most aggressive pushes yet. Any customer that has the 6 GB or 10 GB plan will be able to walk out of a T-Mobile store with a free Galaxy smartphone, covering up to 12 people on one plan.
Here's the catch; they aren't high-end, flagship devices. It's still not a bad deal, considering the phones in the promotion typically sell for a couple hundred bucks, and it can really come in handy for larger families that are trying to upgrade multiple phones at once.
The deal itself is pretty simple so long as you have the required amount of data on your plan. If you have 6 GB of data you'll get the $140 Galaxy On5, and if you opt for the 10 GB plan you'll get the Galaxy J7, which is a $240 phone. After purchasing the phone, the carrier will cover the monthly costs each month will bill credits, effectively giving you a free phone over 24 months. Keep in mind that a family of four can get 6 GB of data for $30 per line, and 10 GB users only pay $40 per line for the first four, then $30 for each line after that. With the cost of the phones essentially being 0 in this promotion, that's by far some of the cheapest cell service you'll find.
This should make for a big back to school kick for the Un-Carrier, especially if your family can take advantage of things like T-Mobile Tuesdays, Data Stash, and Music Freedom and Binge On.
