Contrary to what had been previously reported, HTC is still planning to launch an Android Wear-powered device sometime in early 2015. According to sources, they are planning something that will stand out from the competition. HTC is known for their design elements, so the device should at the very least be quite attractive.

There is some speculation that HTC's watch will use a heavily modified version of Android Wear, but that remains to be seen. While HTC's Sense interface did a lot to bring HTC to prominence in the early days of Android, Android Wear has a lot less room for customization. HTC will also need to address common complaints like size and battery life if they hope to overcome the competition so late in the game. Regardless, it will be exciting to see what HTC comes up with as they have arguably some of the most attractive devices in the world. Let us know in the comments if you would be interested in an HTC smartwatch, or are they too late to the race?
