T-Mobile announced Music Freedom in June, which allows you to stream from your choice of 8 music apps with no penalty against your data cap. Today, they are nearly doubling that effort by adding AccuRadio, Black Planet, Grooveshark, Radio Paradise, Rdio and Songza.  You already had the ability to stream iHeartRadio, iTunesRadio, Pandora, Rhapsody, Samsung Milk, Slacker and Spotify through the service bringing the total to 13.

It appears one major service is missing and that is Google's Play Music. If you remember, shortly after the announcement of Music Freedom, T-Mobile asked customers what service they wanted most. Play Music killed it, but for whatever reason, it didn't make this cut. However, T-Mobile did say they are “on track to add” the service later this year.

Is there anything else that you use that T-Mobile is missing?

  1. I regularly chalk up 4-5GB per month, the vast majority of it coming from Play Music streaming. So yeah, when T-Mobile adds it, I’ll take another look and see if it makes sense to switch from Sprint.
