John Legere and the folks at T-Mobile have done it again. Tonight in Seattle, Washington, Legere threw more punches (with some intense language) at the wireless industry. The carrier announced the entry of wideband LTE in sixteen markets across the country ranging from coast to coast. They also proudly proclaimed that their voice over LTE network (VoLTE) has a presence over 100 million people in the United States. Pretty impressive considering how far behind other carriers are in terms of getting VoLTE networks off the ground. Also, the carrier's VoLTE support is being extending to the Samsung Galaxy S 5 tomorrow. In addition to this, its VoLTE network will go live in even more markets.

The next introduction at T-Mobile's press event was the elimination of music streaming taxing data limits. Your data limit will not be impacted by streaming music from Pandora, iHeartRadio, iTunes Radio, Rhapsody, Spotify, Slacker, Milk, and Beatport. Although Google Play Music Access is not listed, this is just the beginning of services joining T-Mobile and the carrier will work to add others in the future. T-Mobile will not throttle your music streaming data speed even if you go over your limit from other apps and services.
T-Mobile is so confident in its network that you can put it to the test yourself. For free. The carrier will hand you an Apple iPhone 5s for absolutely nothing for seven days. Need more than seven days? T-Mobile will enforce the $750 hold on your credit card. And if the device is damaged, the price to pay is $100. This Test Drive program begins on June 23.
Sixteen markets might sound impressive until you look at the rest of their network and realize it’s still mostly EDGE.
luckily my market is on the list. So, I can care less about the rest ;)
