What everyone believed was the HTC One (M8) Ace has turned out to be a device known as the HTC One (E8). As noted yesterday, the promotional material leaked yesterday does indeed belong to an HTC website. Today, that content has gone live on HTC's Chinese site and confirms what we learned yesterday.

The HTC One (E8) has a plastic unibody and dumps the Duo Camera setup in favor of a single 13MP camera. Dual LED flash is also gone. There are some specifications from the One (M8) that HTC decided to keep, though. For example, the Boomsound stereo speakers and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz are still here.

Do not count on this handset to arrive in the United States as HTC seems to be pushing the One Mini 2 here.
