We're still waiting on some kind of announcement about Android 4.4, and KitKat knows that. Today they posted a short animation video on their official Google+ page in another tease for the elusive version of Android. The video stars two little Androids, one of which is trying to eat a KitKat. The second Android is dressed as a magician and “borrows” a piece of the KitKat to use a wand to perform a magic trick. Unfortunately, the magician's magic “trick” is really to just eat the KitKat and disappear.

Maybe there isn't really anything to read into here, and it's really just a small ad for KitKat to run. They could be trying to hint that KitKat will be announced on Halloween, which seems to be the latest rumor since the 28th has come and gone, but even that isn't supported by many details from the animation. The video is pretty short and fun to watch either way, and you can check it out below.

Any conspiracy theories?

  1. Mankulito <- Let's read the article. OK. A synopsis of the video and three sentences mostly on of the view that there isn't much to read into it other than it being a "short and fun" commercial for KitKat. You seem to be the first one to be a drama queen on this article. Good Job! Other the other hand I do agree with you that the fervor that many are creating is rather ridiculous. But to each their own. If the want to be excited let them. Why go around trying to pee in people's Cheerios?

bozzykid <- The article make's hardly a case for there being meaning to the video and states "Maybe there isn’t really anything to read into here, and it’s really just a small ad for KitKat to run."

You two have fallen for the bait. Which is to drive traffic to the site. And that begs the question, why are you even here? I came to check out the commercial, I figured the link was straight to YouTube but instead I was delighted with your superb well thought comments.

  2. Why must Android fanatics read something into everything? At this point just face it, you have been wrong about 100 times about the N5. Not everything is a hidden message. It will be released when Google is ready. They aren’t putting secret dates into everything they post these days.
