Following up on the Samsung Hennesy clamshell released in August, Samsung is preparing to release another clamshell smartphone for the Chinese market with much better specs. The Samsung W2014 will come equipped with a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and dual 3.67-inch AMOLED screens, although the screens only have a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The device will also come with 2GB of RAM, a 13MP front-facing camera, and Android 4.3. The W2014 will not support LTE according to reports. The device has already cleared the Chinese telecommunications certification agency, Tenaa. When it finally gets to market, it is anticipated it will sell for approximately ¥4,300CNY ($700 USD).
Hit the break for a couple more images of the device. Whatever you may think of Samsung, it seems you do have to give them credit for exploring new, or recycled old, form factors for smartphone devices.
