While they may be trying new ways to capture your attention, HTC could soon be acquired by another Asian tech giant. A few months ago we learned that Lenovo was eying a 2014 arrival in the United States smartphone market and now it seems that they could absorb another company to make it happen. With their market share slipping and management going on the offensive, it may be a good thing for HTC to be taken over by Lenovo, who is one of the largest phone manufacturers in China. Talks have apprently been going on since August and the deal could (if an agreement is made) be done in the first half of 2014.

Lenovo isn't lacking experience in takeovers. In 2005, they purchased the ThinkPad brand from IBM and assisted the company in becoming the world's largest largest personal computer seller.
