Droid Bionic Whines To Users, Users Whine to Motorola 5

Motorola is getting an ear-full from Droid Bionic users because those users are getting an ear-full from their devices. A problem exists with the phone’s audio output, causing a distinctly high-pitched screeching or ‘whining’ sound which is most noticeable while using headphones with the device. The true source of the problem is not yet completely known, though some fear that if the Bionic has a bug in its power supply or ground wiring, the annoying feedback will not be remedied with just a simple software update. Motorola says they are working on the issue, but in the meantime, temporary at-home solutions are popping up, such as setting the device’s volume as high as possible and then adjusting it down via headphone cord volume control.

  1. I cant hear anyone on the phone – I am now on to my 3rd phone in as many weeks! Not happy.

  2. Yes i have experienced this problem, if Motorola wants to keep me as a customer they will recall the 350 dollar Bionic.

  3. The picture used in the article is of the device originally slated to be the Bionic. It’s code-name was Etna. Due to technical difficulties, this device was scrapped and the Bionic name was moved to the device code-named Targa. The image that you are using is NOT the phone the general population will know as the Bionic. In fact, they probably won’t know what it is they are looking at.

  4. Can’t you at least use an actual Bionic? Seriously, if you want to at least appear reputable, the correct device would be nice.

  5. I have not experienced this issue over the four days of ownership.. Yesterday I listened with earphones for hours with no whining.
