Motorola Droid HD (RAZR/Spyder) Specs Come To Light, Faster Than The iPhone 4S?

The Motorola Droid HD aka RAZR or Spyder continues to make headlines. This time our friends over at BGR are touting they’ve received official specs on the upcoming handset. The Verizon bound device will be unveiled Tuesday in New York and our own EIC, Robert Nazarian, will be there to cover it. If the specs pan out, the device is definitely something to be excited about.

“Thin and Fast” – Per BGR source
1GB of RAM — double the iPhone 4 and 4S
1.2GHz dual-core processor
4G LTE (thinnest LTE phone to date)
4.3-inch display

In addition, further specs reveal a case molded from Kevlar, a Gorilla glass display and splash-resistance coating. The device is said to be faster, thinner, smarter and stronger than the iPhone 4S. It will run GGingerbread, because ICS wont be released until after the Samsung-Google announcement, a day later.

Looking forward to this phone, specs look very impressive. I actually owned the at&t Razr 2 which I really liked at the time.

@DroidNexus – You do realize that Hong Kong is 14 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone…. so the ICS event in Hong Kong will be close to the same time time as the Motorola event. So it is possible that the Razr will have ICS and announce just after the ICS event with Samsung in Hong Kong. Not likely, but still very possible.

@Tyler – I had a Razr2 on Verizon myself back in the day. It also happened to be my last flip phone.

Just got back from the Verizon store where the sales rep talked me out of a bionic. He said he talked to the Motorola rep yesterday about the announcement on the 18th. Current specs he knows for sure: 1.2 GHz, dual core, 1GB RAM, AMOLED screen, 4G LTE, name is either HD or HD RAZR. I was super psyched to get the Bionic today, but now I am going to wait it out and see what the HD has to offer!
