HTC Sensation Gets Android 2.3.4 Update On Vodafone

HTC Sensation users are getting a nice little bump to Android 2.3.4 with an OTA maintenance update. The announcement released by HTC promises stability and performance updates, reduced heating in some scenarios by optimizing processor load and improved browser performance over its stocked Android 2.3.3.

HTC Sensation Software update available now

A new maintenance release for the HTC Sensation is now available to Vodafone customers. This update is an Android platform update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread and introduces a number of fixes and improvements, including:

Stability and performance updates
Reduce heating in some scenarios by optimizing processor load
Improve browser performance
How do I get the latest software?

Over the air

To see if the software upgrade is available, navigate from the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings. Scroll down the screen, and then tap About phone > System software updates. On the System software updates screen, tap Check now.

Checking the software version

To check which version of the software the customer has on their handset they need follow the below steps:

Settings
About phone
Software information
Software number
The new software version will show as 1.45.161.1

    Yep, I can confirm that I got mine yesterday (18th August). No noticable differnce as yet apart from voice calling in google talk and the ability to take a screenshot by pressing the power key and home key together. Still not rectified a glitch I have with mine though where it insists on trying to download my facebook contacts even ticked as not to do it. Only way I can stop this is to turn off all auto sync/background data. Anyone else have this issue?

    I received the update yesterday (18th August). As with vic no noticeable difference except that under SD & phone storage when clicking on “Make more space” I get an error “Unable to find an activity to handle this action”. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Rob!!! I was looking for a solution on this error, and then i came across this thread..seems like im not the only one having that problem..hehe

    I tried factory reset but it didn’t help..

    @vic the lag on the sense has gone..or should i say has reduced

    Yes I get the same prob on the make more space bit too?? Weird! Ah well still love the phone, just wish HTC had put a decent speaker in it!!

    I recieved the updates about 7 hours ago and I hit to download the updates then install, but its 7 hours ago and my sensation still working for it, is it normal? please; could any body answer me.

    Phone was ok before update. Now the much feared unlock screen fault has appeared and touchscreen seems to not recognise touches. A common fault on these phones along with WiFi death grip.

    There is update available showing now to fix the make more space problem. Just downloaded and all ok now.

    i have updatet my sensation to 2.3.4 but i have a problem when i go to the home screen it says for 10 sec max a white screen whit HTC and a few sec later it says loading i am running on vodafone.

    need help this is anoying

    Yes search for software update on phone again and it says that it has found a ‘make more space’ application to install. Install and then its working as normal again

    I have the same “Unable to find an activity to handle this action” error too when trying to make more space on the “SD and Phone Storage” menu. Only happened ever since this update, any solutions?

    Hei anybody that can solve the problem please tell us, its getting really sux.. i cant download more apps and cant move my apps to my sd card.. i need help ;D

    Hy guys, I managed to get my hands on the official apk that resolves the problem with “make more space” is actually the update but is an apk file.
